There are two sides to the debate and appeasement is not coming from either side, why even bring it up? The two sides are very clear: Ukraine should and can defend itself vs. The US must rush in and defend Ukraine. No one, on either side of this debate is calling for appeasement.

The hypocrisy is that people who have lived in Australia for 50+ years are calling for the US to go defend Ukraine. Why not call on Australia to go and defend Ukraine?

This is stunning. Here is the offer, you want our weapons to defend Ukraine, OK we give them to you, if you use them to invade Russia, then the deal is off. If you have an issue with that deal then get Australia to give them weapons to attack Russia.

So we have two ifs here, Ukraine falls, and Russia attacks other former USSR nations. OK, even if that happens Poland has had more than a year to prepare and once they do attack a NATO country it changes the equation. At that point counterstrikes will be on the table.
 
Here's an Australian who definitely has picked a side and tends to report EVERYTHING from the good, bad, and indifferent news. He tries to see both sides but ultimately has picked one.

Does any sane person actually believe that Grandpa Disaster could possibly serve adequately as commander-in-chief?
Same goes for Congress. No way this motley crew could rise to that kind of extraordinary calling.

They are better off to stay out of the battlefield and play in their liberal fantasy sandbox.

Because Russian courts have been criminalizing everyone who has spoken out against the War in Ukraine....they started this:

The theme of the forum centered on the criminalization of “Russophobia,” a measure that Russian Human Rights Council Chairperson Valery Fadeev proposed and Deputy Minister of Justice Andrey Loginov and Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova supported.[16] Moskalkova defined Russophobia as a “misanthropic ideology,” and a State Duma deputy claimed that the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants for Russian officials for the kidnapping of Ukrainian children to Russia is an example of “Russophobia.”[17] Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Sviridenko announced an expansion of the law against ”foreign agents” to include a section penalizing ”third parties” for aiding foreign agents in violating Russian law.[18] Russian Investigative Committee Chairperson Alexander Bastrykin asked Russian Constitutional Court Chairperson Valery Zorkin to look into ways of establishing an unspecified state ideology in the Russian Constitution, which Bastrykin claimed would require the Duma to adopt a new constitution rather than pass an amendment.[19] Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuichenko supported Bastrykin’s proposal, but Zorkin noted that the current constitution contains a set of values that can ”allow civil society to connect.”[20] Senior Russian officials’ introduction of such proposals indicates that the Kremlin may be gauging the information space reaction to increased repression measures and setting conditions for long-term strengthening of these measures.

I have a suggestion: everybody stay home. Everybody ignore the draft. Everybody refuse to participate. Everybody tell the politicians and kings to buzz off.

War serves the ambitions of kings and the $$$monied elite$$$. Wake up.

Many moons ago, Zelensky was willing to negotiate. Not any longer. Now there are only irrational and outrageous demands issued for the express purpose of making negotiations IMPOSSIBLE.

What changed pray tell? The $$$offer$$$ of course. And a gun to the ribs as added surety that Zelensky will hold up his end of the bargain.

The delusional coke-head with grand ambitions of avarice thought he could outwit Satan. Foolish. Only the pre-fall Adam was not deceived.

Even Michael did not debate Satan. He knew he was not up to that task of rebuking the master deceiver. A fact not well understood by the Church today.

Grandpa disaster has been the best thing for the gospel. We are seeing people twice or even three times more interested in the gospel than they were just a year ago. Also the scoffing is way down, when you talk about the possibility of WWIII no one is scoffing, not even my brother the graduate from Harvard law school.
