Hey Everyone!

Necessary Disclaimer -- of course this thread is strictly just for fun, and not at all to be taken too seriously!

And now, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Comet and Vixen...

As most know, there is a side of me that will never grow up. :) On Christmas Eve, I like watching the NORAD Santa tracker (link to the story of it below) to see where Santa is headed, just for fun.

https://www.norad.mil/Newsroom/Fact-Sheets/Article-View/Article/578773/norad-tracks-santa/

The tracker helpfully tells you where Santa has just been, where he has headed, and shows a running tally of the number of gifts he has delivered.

Before I went to bed, I saw that Santa was on his way towards a state where a few of my CC friends live, so I told them I hoped they'd been good this year because Santa was headed their way! Maybe, just maybe, if they'd been good ALL YEAR, Santa would bring them something that they'd find under their tree on Christmas morning!

Now of course, I had no doubts. I went to sleep with no worries or trepidation. I, of course, was CONFIDENT that I would wake up a full stack of presents under my tree!! And so I tried to sleep with eager anticipation!

And then it happened.

I woke up. It was CHRISTMAS!!! I eagerly walked to my tree... And guess what?!?

Not a single present nor package, not even a bow, sprinkle of magic dust, or hint of wrapping.

SANTA DIDN'T LEAVE ME ANYTHING THIS YEAR!!

I was shocked. SHOCKED, I tell you!!!

And so I am only left with empty hunches and theories. My only guesses were that A. I don't have a chimney, and Santa needs a chimney to slide down in order to carry out normal operations, OR: B. I might, just maybe, not really I'm sure but possibly, have done something naught throughout the year. ME??? I'm sure that can't be it. There MUST be another explanation -- as in, someone must have told on me :sneaky: -- and boy, are they going to get it when I find out who it was. I mean...

Now, I can't be the only one, can I? Are YOU someone who didn't get anything from Santa, either?! (Or maybe it was "someone you know", and surely not you, because YOU were unquestionably good all year!!) Are you bamboozled as to why Santa didn't leave you anything under your tree, too?

Maybe together, we can figure out why. The poll is multiple choice, answers can be seen by everyone but unfortunately, there aren't enough answer boxes to include everything, so please some back and make up your own excuse, er... I mean, leave your own unique answer in your post! :D

So... Why Didn't Santa Leave YOU (or "A Friend") Anything This Year???!!

It's been a rough Christmas this year. I won't bring down the mood of your thread but just say I played "Santa" this year. That's why I didn't get presents. But it's ok. I have my great nephew coming and I can't wait to see him enjoy his very first Christmas!

There is no Santa. He burned up in the atmosphere a long time ago due to the speed at which he had to travel to get to every home.

I didn't get anything. My family and I stopped doing gifts at Christmas some time ago. None of us are kids though. Among friends, we don't really exchange gifts either.

I should probably try out this new rocket launcher that I bought for Billy before wrapping it and placing it under the tree.

I know you had mentioned some struggles a while back and you've been on my prayer list ever since (I mean, even more than normal since I've known you for a while.)

May God bless your family with many affirming outcomes. ❤️🙏

LOL, West!!

I can hear a slight warble in your voice when you say you're going to try again next year! :D:cool::whistle:

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure Santa's first reaction to seeing my name either list is, "Oh c'mon, gimme a break here!!!":ROFL::ROFL:

Santa makes a list and checks it twice to find out who was naughty or nice. I wasn't always nice this year. I checked the Naughty but said I was nice box. Actually I had a bit of a haul this year. Most of it was even remotely useful.

Why Didn't Santa Leave YOU Anything This Year???!!
Well...

According to one of my kiddos I'm a bad parent  very, very mean :LOL: and I'm certainly not nice or fair :LOL::ROFL:
 but then again, this kid is going through some tough luck, er rather tough love right now sooo...

And according to someone else, whom I've only ever known via a computer screen, I am a fraud; though I was commended for my acting skills. . So there's that

OH! Perhaps it's because while dealing with all my life's drama I didn't return a bunch of library items on time and the fines went through the roof  but couldn't Santa have just taken care of that for me and called it my gift?

Well you see GG, there's a rumor going around that the parents do all the work...

Well, uh, guess I just got so busy being a Santa playing fraud that I forgot to give the final touch and leave myself something under the tree

I got a chocolate covered marshmallow, and I ate half of it to show my appreciation. I'm not that keen on marshmallows. It was the perfect gift for someone that has all their wants and needs met.

My gift didn't arrive because the new 2025 Aston Martin Valiant wouldn't fit in Santa's sleigh.

Bah humbug!

Now that the kids are grown up and gone we don't do too much on Christmas. One of my sons sent me some small towel like things, that after some hard physical activity you wet it, wring it out, then wrap it around your neck. It is supposed to cool you down. Guess I'll try them this summer sometime.

I did deep fry some halibut on Christmas day after dipping the fish in beer batter. That's one of our favorite meals.

I checked all the boxes, because they made me smile and laugh, which is one of the joys of Christmas.

As for gifts, I didn't get many, but they were appreciated. My younger sister Lauren sent me an Amazon gift card in the mail, which I used to buy The Polar Express and three classic TV specials on the 4K format. My older sister Nita gave me another piece for my always-expanding Christmas village; its a town square with a tree, some LED lights, and skaters that move in circles when you turn it on. It also plays music, which made me smile. Finally, my niece Trish and her husband Heath gave me two small gifts, which I did not expect at all - a tree topper shaped like the Super Mario invincibility star, and a Shazam ornament based on the movie.
