Protests over the police beating death of Tyre Nichols turned violent in Times Square Friday night as several arrests were made, including of a man who stomped on the windshield of an NYPD police cruiser.
At least three people were handcuffed in the Crossroads of the World after getting into some sort of confrontation with police in the street.
In another chaotic scene, one of the protesters hopped on the hood of a police car and cracked the windshield with his foot. Several police officers quickly moved in to grab the man and then they led him through the crowd into a police precinct, footage shows.
The Times Square protest was one of several that erupted in the Big Apple as the sun went down. Others originated in Union Square and Grand Central Terminal.
While the night began peacefully, tensions between protesters and NYPD officers grew as it got later into the night.

Heh... imagine if conservatives did this? The media outrage and alarmism would be off the chart. Antifa / BLM? Their violence is peace. Only the words of the conservative are violence.
Tyre would disagree.
Emergency responders have also come under fire in this case because in part of their failure to make an immediate response to the call to the scene.
They arrived something like 20 minutes after the call.
I saw part of the video of his beating via the cop cam on one of the offending murderers.
Nothing justifies what they did to that young man. Beating, pepper spray. I think they even used a Taser.
His screaming repeatedly for his mom is heartbreaking.
What they did to this young man is without question evil incarnate.
The cop cam footage that I saw showed the wearer walking away from Tyre. While Tyre's on going abuse could still be heard in the background. The officer was out of breath.
I thought he may have walked away realizing the wrong he was doing. I was wrong. He returned only to pull out his night stick and use that on Tyre.
One assailant can clearly be seen kicking Tyre in the head.
Later, the assailants are talking together, trying to make up a story to cover their actions. One suggests making the claim Tyre had tried to grab his gun.
They beat this man so badly it took three days for him to die. Because his body could not rebound to full life in that same amount of time.
God rest Tyre's soul to peace. And bring comfort and strength to his family. And insure justice comes to all responsible for his death.

Maximum sentence for second degree murder is 60 years in tennessee. Nothing less than a maximum sentence would be Justice in this case
As terrible as what occurred is, it has nothing to do with what I wrote.
I quoted scripture. If someone disagrees with what God has said, their argument isn't with me.
That your heart is broken by the injustice is appropriate and commendable, and is befitting a Christian. That you question the veracity of God's word is not.

The adage in Proverbs 15:1 reads in full, ''A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.''
Proverbs 15:1 is a proverb, not a magical incantation that when expressed stops the wrathful instantly.
Jesus soft words ministry caused his enemies to want him dead. And guess what?
Your self-righteous ridicule seeks to stir up wrath. It failed and stirred pity instead.
Don't accuse someone of questioning the veracity of God's words when your abrogation of scripture implied Tyre was partly responsible for what happened.

And you are right...I didn't quote scripture, I paraphrased it. But I didn't misrepresent it. Grace and peace.
Quoting a verse is could be abridging Scripture . Scripture was not written in chapter and verse.
In fact it wasn't numbered with chapters and verse numbers until the invention of the printing press.
Whoever caused the numbering system the obvious object of the extremely addictive exercise was to deliberately obfuscate the whole of the themes of several stories connected together and to get scriptures sliced into almost meaningless quotes.
I share your outrage at what has happened and do not in any way blame anyone but the police.
What about those who caused these men to be hired as policemen even though it was known that they were unfit? Do they not share in the blame for this travesty?
