The Holy Spirit has different roles, such as teaching, leading, convicting, empowering, sealing etc..
When we discuss baptism, salvation and the local church, often times the work of the Holy Spirit with a whole group of believers is equated with the same work He does with one individual believer.
So.. you seen in Acts 19.. Paul speaking to a whole group of disciples who have believed already, but had not received the Spirit.
The question is.. is this about salvation..ie..none of them was actually converted yet?
Or is it that they all already have individual salvation, with the Holy Spirit indwelling each one, but they have not received the Spirit as a whole group to empower them as a NT church?
This is the difference between salvation itself, and the work of the Holy Spirit 'in the midst' of a local NT church.
This is how the Spirit can be received AFTER water baptism, but not actually about conversion, because its the role of the Holy Spirit in the midst of whole group of believers as a church (assembly).
Note: when I say local church..I don't mean the building that church meets in.
