I don't know if Trump's tariffs are "righteous" but I think that is an unfair question. The first question I would like to know is was the path we took to strip the US of its manufacturing righteous? Because if not, then it is not righteous to defend something that is unrighteous and it is perfectly acceptable to tear it down.
I also don't know if the Tariffs are the best way to remedy the situation. I think what is clear is that no president since NAFTA has remedied the situation, and to be fair this began after WW2. First we rebuilt Eastern Europe and much of the world, then we brought in NAFTA to strip the US manufacturing. So instead I think the more appropriate question is whether or not Trump is addressing the issue that he promised he would address, a promise that motivated many to vote for him. Yes, he is addressing it and yes, he is doing what he said he would do. This is what the majority of Americans wanted and that is how our form of government works.
Are people losing their jobs? Yes. Is this because of Trump? That is not a simple question, I would say it is because of the $36 trillion debt. However, it could also serve his political interests, that is certainly possible. This is what happens when you borrow money, you have to pay it back and people rarely like the terms under which they must pay off their debts.
The one think I think should encourage people is that Trump has two sons and a daughter that might have political ambitions, so he can't simply say this is his last term and he doesn't have to worry about the future. If we are going to have 24 more years of Trumps in office after Donald then it is on him to fix this problem.

The Tariffs are not hitting China and the US at the same time. Since there is a heavy trade imbalance the orders stopped first. That primarily hits China. A few weeks later you see a heavy drop off in shipping, that hits the shippers. A few weeks after that you will see layoffs and furloughs at the ports in the US, and then with the truckers, and then in the stores empty shelfs. So China is feeling the full pain right now, but the US will not feel the same level of pain for another two weeks.

Well if you want to be philosophical we are all "slaves" to the system unless one is living in a completely independent of any financial ties to the system.
But practically speaking no matter how one views their economic practices and the products they produce it seems fairly evident the USA feels threatened by their rising power, so much so, they are ready to move away from supporting Ukraine in order to be prepared to engage in some type of war with China.
What westerners do not realize is the China has five years plans and then a new set of five year plans where they have developed their technology and worked on fostering connections with other countries.
What has the "West" being doing? Suffice it to say it is complicated, that is why historians still study the fall of the Roman Empire.

As a consumer of dolls for my absolutely gorgeous five year old grand daughter— I get his point and agree with it.
Her name is Wren, and as the only grand-daughter she has my heart. And given the choice, I would gladly pay an extra five, or even ten dollars to buy her a doll made in America, to American standards of health and safety and environmental regulations, than some Barbie made in China for cheap.
I would buy American! -and then send it to her in Canada.
