No they weren't wishes because witchcraft isn't real.
The analogy was between current designation of terrorists with 1600s designation of witches. So if you believe witchcraft is not real the analogy only works if you think terrorism is not real.

That's because the analogy went over your head.
Under the Patriot act, an American citizen could possibly be detained indefinitely with zero due process

Witch trials .... How many women do you think were falsely accused in murdered with no due process? My guess would be a lot

No. It might allow for the detention of people designated as "enemy combatants" indefinitely since this "war on terror" is going on indefinitely. BTW that has not gone over my head, I closely followed the appeal to the Supreme court for some who were held in Guantanamo without habeas corpus.

However, this is the problem with terrorism. They are willing to fight a war that will take generations and so being detained during the length of the war is typical in all wars in human history.

The problem of course is how these people are being designated as enemy combatants. In some cases (don't know if it is a tiny minority or a vast majority) our allies are using the US to get rid of their own personal enemies, so that people who are designated as "enemy combatants" may not be enemies of the US but rather enemies of the people we are working with as allies. This of course is the other problem with terrorism. When a nation went to war with another nation you had the opportunity to join the army of your nation, wear your uniform and pretty much trust they would not give you up to the enemy. But terrorists are operating in a nation that does not want to be seen as an enemy combatant, so not only are you fighting "the great Satan" but you also cannot trust your friends and neighbors.

And so the real problem is that people think they can act anonymously and not be held accountable for their actions. Who carries the greater culpability? That is for God to decide. However, terrorists claiming the US is treating them unfairly is a joke. In all warfare there is going to be collateral damage. That is why citizens of any nation should not want terrorists to operate in their country.

Should Habeas Corpus be permitted for enemy combatants? Well, ask the commander of the army if that would hurt our ability to wage war on the terrorists and the answer is obviously it will. It is an advantage that the other terrorists are not sure of who has been captured and who hasn't, who is talking and who isn't.

Therefore the analogy to the 1600s witchcraft trials is only applicable if you believe there is witchcraft.

You're talking points make no sense.
Whether or not witchcraft is real is irrelevant to the point I was making.

Your point is bogus if terrorism is real and if we are in a "war on terror" that will go on for generations.

That's a non sequitur. You're really bad at debating
If you believe there is really terrorism going on (and not false flag events) then it is expected that our government will act to fight the terrorism to protect American Citizens. However, terrorists hide among innocent people, they don't use uniforms, there is no official declaration of war, no one to negotiate with, and they do not follow accepted international laws on warfare. 911 killed many people including women and children. They are fighting in a way that is designed to make sure they cannot be attacked or killed without collateral damage among innocent civilians. So the US is obligated to fight this war to protect its citizens and these are the rules the terrorists have imposed. Their hope is that useful idiots, like yourself, will then blame and accuse the US of holding enemy combatants indefinitely. But that is not the US' fault, they have declared a war and say openly they are willing to fight for generations. Enemy combatants are always held during the duration of the war. They are complaining that we are not following the Geneva conventions, but that is simply because they aren't following the Geneva conventions. They liken the trials of terrorists to the witchcraft trials in the 1600s. I have no problem with that analogy if they are agreeing that they are involved in witchcraft.

They don't even have to give someone a trial under the Patriot act.

Are you seriously this clueless about how war and prisoners of war works?

Every single terrorist can be classified as a spy and according to the Geneva conventions you can execute spies.

Except under the Patriot act the person doesn't actually have to be a terrorist because there's no due process.

That is because this is a war. Since when do prisoners of war get "due process" of the US legal system?

Under the Patriot act there's nothing stopping them from accusing you of being a terrorist and holding you with no due process

Ever since march of 2021 I have been on this forum making a case for the coming Day of the Lord and the Antichrist, who will be the most evil dictator in human history and the beast system.

You have called me every name in the book and now all of a sudden the light bulb has been turned on?
