I actually thought that was a genuine moment, finally some honesty, there might still be a chance the USA regains its autonomy from a foreign state, I mean it would mean replacing many individuals in both houses with the exception of a few who do not accept AIPAC money.

I do think he wants a positive legacy but easier said than done.

However, it seems he is somewhat naive about what decisions he was going to be allowed to make.
