If God just gave us what we deserved, we'd all be on our way to hell and eternal death
Exactly. I don't want to be treated fairly but rather desire compassion and mercy. I don't deserve this but fortunately God is love.

I would say that regardless of what you've been through, you deserve to love and be loved.

Does this include adultery of the heart (unclean thoughts, porn)? I also believe if you love someone else while being married, that is also adultery.
Well for the adultry in the heart and porn.. I cannot say either way with confidence.. I would say no one would be married for a long time if Adultry of the heart was grounds for divorce.. But as for your other example.. I do not believe that loving someone else while married would be sufficent Biblical grounds for divorce..

I don't know about you pessimists, but I'm always an optimist and in good spirits, thanks to my trust in the Lord in everything. That's why I've had many relationships with women in the past, and I'm sure I'll have many more going into the future unless I get hitched to one of them of course.

Godspeed.

Hi, Ive been struggling with something for while. I've been married and divorced 3 times, I have 3 daughters all with different fathers. I'm almost 44 years old, and feel like I don't deserve another relationship. I would just like some opinions and Biblical views on this. THank you.

Its not an issue of deserving or not deserving. The more times one marries the higher the chance of divorce.
I think this often comes down to either the person not learning who to avoid, or not learning and working on their own faults.

A third marriage is 70-75% likely to fail. This makes a 4th attempt higher than that. So you'd be looking at a less than 20% chance of success if you tried again.

To the OP.... this might sound blunt or unsympathetic, but I don't mean it to sound as such.
For now just draw closer to God. He's the best relationship you can ever have outside of the bond you share with your children.
And speaking of them.... they are your main priority !
God has blessed you with them and given you grace and strength to raise them.
As you continue to seek the Lord He will reveal Himself in ways you can't even fathom.
Blessings to you & enjoy CC. You'll find many Godly women here to share with. ☺

Agreed! A vacation from marriage should sound like a good thing, well to me it does.

To everyone that's married, don't mean to offend at all. Marriage was sanctioned by God and should be respected as such.

Let freedom reign to all the singles though!

Our most important relationship is and will always be with the Lord. Pray and seek the Him. Focus on Him and then listen to what He shows and tells you in regards to whether you should marry again. Only He knows your situation, your heart and what you should be doing. Praying you find peace in the season the Lord has you in.

Rather than being deserving this would necessarily require compassion, mercy, and forgiveness on the other person's part.
