People who actually read and study the Scriptures and are not deceived by WHAT THEY WANT TO DO.
When reading Acts we see that it was Peter and Apostle who was speaking and if you read further you will see that when Peter spoke those present HEARD him in their own languages.
Then when you read Mark 16 you will see in verse #14 that THE ELEVEN APOSTLES were who Jesus spoke to and it was TO THEM that were given the Sign Gifts. That was done so that they would be protected as they traveled spreading the gospel.
Then of course when we read 1 Corinthians, we see that it was a CORRECTIVE letter because the church there was incorrectly using gifts and then in chapter 14 verse 34 WOMEN are instructed not to speak at all in church. The CONTEXT of the whole chapter is the error of speaking in tongues and in verse #34......"WOMEN, do not speak at all (In Tongues)!"

As I testified to the forum, several years ago I asked for the gift of tongues while praying in my room, and it was received, same today as then, and it's used in my prayer life
Of course the Baptist denomination primarily is the driving force behind your teaching, in that the sign gifts died with the Apostles (Wrong)
You cant tell me I haven't received the gift, just as you cant tell the blind man that is now seeing, that he wasn't actually healed immediately, it's that simple

I can not argue or debate your belief's. To YOU they are real and in fact I have been where you are. All I can do is to tell you to study the Scriptures so that you can be of a sound mind.

proves my point the video was that of people who are not even Christians but secular. the red-headed Opie wannabe said that Rev Seamour and Pelham were the founders of the modern Pentacostel movement because they believed that speaking in tongues was a gift of the Holy Spirit. Guess what That is what the Bible calls speaking in tongues found in 1corthian chapters 12- 14.
the idea that those on TV are representative of all is a joke. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today just like Preaching is and the office of a Pastor Yet there has not been any gift more abused than the office of a Pastor, But that gift is still valid today despite the foolishness of some.

By those words......how can then the speaking of TONGUES which come out of that action then be accepted.......UNLESS it is something that you have decided that YOU like to do and are going to do it no matter what????????
that is a big presupposition. First off you must use the very words of Jesus who said in Acts 1:8
You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world.
You try to tie down the gifts of the Holy Spirit by one verse. Women are to speak when they are prophesying as Paul said in 1cor chapter 11:5. You missed that. You are selectively removing verses that best supports your bias.,
1cor chapters 11 to 14 are unit chapters. meaning their context does not end with the next chapter. The original letter was not written with chapters, that were added later to make it easier to read. When you say CORRECTIVE Letter it also is CONFIRMINGG one too. As Paul said :
1cor 14:39- 40
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.
Nothing there says it has all stopped. Nothing in the chapters says it is not for today. Nothing there says those on TV who misuse the gifts have caused the real not to happen.

Mark 16:14-18 .......
"Afterward he appeared unto the ELEVEN as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
In the Greek, verse #17 is an "ANTACENANT" which means that it points to a previous verse for clarification. In this case it is verse #14 and it points to the ELEVEN as the THEM who will receive the SIGN GIFTS.
Now the question is......were YOU there among the ELEVEN to receive the SIGN GIFTS????
The SIGN GIFTS were a Package Deal". READ the Scriptures....the ELEVEN had ALL the gifts given to them.
Now then, you say you speak in tongues. Do you also kiss rattle snakes????
Do you drink polluted water with any side effects?????
Have you healed the sick????
Have you raised the Dead????
WHY NOT??? The Apostles did so then you MUST also have done those things as they all come as a package gift. If you have ONE you have ALL of them.
READ the literal words of Scripture and do so without the need to do what YOU want to do.

my denomination doesn't support any of those in the video. who are in error and misusing the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We don't encourage one to get their teaching from Youtube, on TV, or even TBN, and Star. But to seek God in His word and pray and go to a Bible Believing Church which I Must add I as minister pentacostel have sent many people to non-pentacostel churches who teach tongues are not for today. WHY>? Because it is not essential for salvation God is fully capable of helping them come to know the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
I do not teach people how to speak in tongues I teach the word of God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit.

Lets look at CONTEXT!
Acts 1:2-3..........
"until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. "
Acts 1:4.........
"On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about."
Acts 1:7-8........
"And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
According to the actual Scriptures....which YOU used, it was the APOSTLES to who Jesus gave verse #8 to.
As for 1 Corthinians 12-4, they are ALL CONTEXTUALLY about the error of tongues being used in the church. It was a corrective unit written by Paul to fix the error of the Corinthian church.
TONGUES were spoken in the PAGAN centers of worship in the city of Corinth and when the new believers began to meet, some of them came from those PAGAN religions and brought those PAGAN TONGUE practices with them. That is why God had Paul write to correct what was being done.
Then CONTEXTUALLY........in 14:34, the Scriptures say.....NOT ME the Scriptures say about speaking in tongues.......
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. "
No it does not. it is your perceived bias.
the context of pagan tongues was interjected by your bias. Paul did not say the tongues spoken in 1cor 12 -14 were pagan he said and told them what they were doing wrong with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how to properly use them.
You assume they were speaking pagan tongues Paul would have not mixed words IF they were. God try but wrong.
Contextually about women in the church starts in chapter 11:5 as I stated earlier which you keep overlooking. Women are to remain silent and IF they Prophecy (men or women) the elder are to judge what has been said. IF it is not right meaning no interpretation they are told to stop? No be silent and pray to yourself.
26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 30 But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent.
That is to both men and women which is the application.
