"This I have shared many times, the harm of selfishness, be it great
or small acts of selfishness, it has a negative effect on any attempt to
get right with God and those around us. Years ago, when asked to take an honest inventory of myself, the conclusion was
that many of my problems were directly related to my selfishness.
Thank God, over the years I have learned to seriously keep myself in check
pertaining to being selfish. And this has allowed more awareness of things more
important than my own wants.
I believe selfishness to be a silent deterrent in achieving a closer relationship with
God or family.
Selfishness is being concerned excessively or exclusively, for oneself or one's own advantage,
pleasure, or welfare, regardless of others...self-centeredness is not compatible with
