There are two witnesses because that's what Revelation 11 tells us but that also does not mean the two witnesses are just two people. Scripture says the two witnesses are two candlesticks AND two olive trees. Candlesticks are churches and that's an unknown amount of people, and two olive trees is two anointed prophets which is actually two people but the two churches are much more people. The two olive trees feed olive oil to the candlesticks/churches so their spiritual flame can light their path. Same concept in the parable of the 10 virgins.

Can you elaborate how it is the same concept in the parable of the 10 virgins?

I was referring to the oil and the light made from it. It's the same symbolic oil that comes from the two olive trees/two prophets.

I wonder how the 10 virgins get the oil if the candlesticks get the oil from the olive trees?

They got it the same way. The oil isn't literal. It is what one gets by listening to a prophet, which is also a teacher with wisdom and guided by the holy spirit.

But why do the five tell the other five to go and buy?

Well, in the context of the story, that would be the logical advice to give. The only important thing that the story tells us is that some virgins will make a terrible mistake and will not qualify to be brought to the wedding. They are those Paul said would commit Apostasy. They were virgins, they had some oil, they were even in the right place but the mistake they made undid all of those things.

Well I think he knows more than humans?
his problem is he knows Gods word is true but rejects the authority of it and uses it to create death in man tempting then to transgress it so he can have children too

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He understands this was true

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Because of his hate for God and Gods beloved creation he did This knowing it was true , to kill them

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And so mankind now has a struggle with sin and dies because of it. All because Satan knew Gods word is true so he caused man to do what God said would bring them death

he murdered mankind through contradicting Gods true word

I’m assuming it’s coming from here

“This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Which came from here

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think it was coming from that principle of either two or three witnesses establishing every doctrine
Okay. Now I know what you are talking about. Yes, this was a principle of the Law as well as the NT. No one could be condemned in a court of law on the testimony of only one witness. There could be more than three, but there had to be at least two.

Oh I was asking where did they get the oil and why would they tell them to buy if it comes from prophets or teacher of wisdom etc? What would buy mean?

Going out after midnight is not going to be a legitimate source of oil. Think of it as truth, there's false "truth" out there. The other thing is the passage does not say they ever found any oil.

What would buy mean?
Buy means to purchase in a variety of ways.

And now I get what he's talking about :D and that's a very enlightening thought. He will not condemn without warning his people

Amos 3:

3 Hear this word that the Lord hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?

6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

So I liken the two witnesses to the watchman in Ezekiel 3

17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Someone was just trying to confuse you. The oil does not come from anyone other that God. In the parable of the Ten Virgins the oil represents the indwelling Holy Spirit. So when the foolish virgins were told to go and "buy" oil, it should not be taken literally.

The two witnesses in Revelation 11 are presented as lampstands (or candlesticks) as well as olive trees to indicate that they are continuously operating in the power of the Holy Spirit -- they are constantly "filled with the Spirit" therefore their testimony is powerful, and they are giving forth the light of the Gospel.
