I ONLY believe that He was crucified, for my sins b/c of His GREAT love for us. He conquered death,hell and the grave, ascended into heaven and has attainted His righteous place again. We are to make EVERY day HOLY unto him. We are Not to be offensive,nor cause a stumbling block. We are a royal priesthood,partakers of His righteousness TOGETHER!
In the latter passage the English “in three days” is literally “after three days” in the original Greek.

Three is a word set aside to describe the "end of a matter": as to whatever is in view. . . throughout the bible. The reason we are given the Jonas three day account so that we can compare the spiritual unseen understanding to the same faith to faith .Comparing spiritual unseen things, with and to spiritual, unseen things.
A one day demonstration would make to use of the word three without effect.. as to how it is used throughout.
Three days in the belly of the whale called hell equals three days in the heart of the earth as a living suffering.
It began in the garden of Gethsemane when Christ in the Son of man worked to pour out His Spirit unto death as if it was blood in agony and the Father poured out the wrath Jesus. (Isaiah 53) Jesus cried out to the father not seen and was strengthened God sent angels to finish the demonstration. just as with Jonas rising from the depth of the Sea placed on the dry ground or with Jesus rising from the tomb on the first day of the week. The beginning of the new era of Sabbaths. The day he said... let there be light .
Rather than belly of the whale or heart of the earth he uses baskets to present the gospel in Genesis 40
Genesis 40:18 And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:

1. The Messiah said that He would be three days and three nights in the "heart of the earth"
2. There are those who think that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week.
3. Of those, there are some who think that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb.
4. A 6th day of the week crucifixion/1st day of the week resurrection allows for only 2 nights to be involved.
5. To account for the lack of a 3rd night, there may be some of those mentioned above who say that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language.
6. This topic is asking anyone reading this who falls in that group of believers to provide examples to support that belief of commonality; i.e., instances where a daytime or a night time was forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part of a daytime and/or no part of a night time could have occurred.

Sorry not trying to change the subject . . more curve the direction. I see it a little differently.
I would think we would first have to define the phrase three days three nights in the heart of the earth. I believe it began in the garden demonstration when Christ began suffer unto death (not dead) before the cross part of the three day demonstration. That could make a difference.

And that "someone new" needs to be someone who believes the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with a 1st day of the week resurrection, and who thinks that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb, and who tries to explain the lack of a 3rd night by saying that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language of the period.
I know in modern times a full day starts about 12:01am and ends about 11:59pm, in biblical times a day started about 6:01pm and ends about 5:59pm. so what is the proper measurement for time to use. especially when the completed crucifixion death on the cross starts at 9th hour 3 hours before the biblical day ends
It would appear the "heart of the earth" represents the work of suffering a living hell . A mutual work of the father and Son working together. It began in the garden on Thursday when the Son of man began the suffering unto death. Jesus crying out to be delivered the father sending the Holy Spirit strengthening the Son so they a one could finish the demonstration .The mystery hid from ages past
