rstrats, you have been at least a year and a half on different forums still looking for an example of an idiomatic day definition that has a part containing a whole. You can't even make what you are searching for clear. Why is this so important to you? Give it up so we can all go about our business.

So what. You made the mistake. When you create a thread or posts you can't rewrite them later and have to live with the results! Just like in life you make statements and take actions. If you mess up you have to live with the results. You can apologize and explain but you can't erase the past.

Where did you come up with that comment. It is all about the 3 nights and 3 days Jesus was buried. The Bible states it just like I just did. In Israel today and going back to the ancient times the day started at sunset. That is why the Bible repeatedly states the evening and morning to talk about a day. It is stated like that in the creation account and continues through the rest of the Bible.

The Bible states he was crucified during Passover week. To get 3 nights and 3 days ending with the empty tomb on Sunday morning and Jesus buried on the afternoon preceeding a Sabbath it forces the Sabbath to be an annual Sabbath!! That would be the Feast of the Unleavened Bread at the end of Passover week.

Actually, I'm not. I'm simply looking for examples where a daytime or a night time is forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part a daytime and/or no part of a night time could occur.

Clarifications yes but what is posted can't be changed. That is what I said. Just like when we make a stupid statement others hear. We can explain but the words are out there.

If you read the Bible and understand about annual Sabbaths then being gone on Sunday morning forces the Sabbath to be an annual Sabbath in order for the 3 nights and 3 days to happen.

Why would you entertain any other scenario which would have Christ breaking a Jewish feast day ? You realize the penalty for that could be stoning , for anyone involved ?

There are the weekly Sabbaths (Saturday). In addition there are several yearly Sabbaths. Passover week starts and ends with an annual Sabbath. Jesus was crucified during Passover Week. The last one is the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.
Here are the days of the week. Keep in mind the day starts on sunset in the Bible and current Israel.
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
The tomb was empty on Sunday morning. That meant the latest Jesus rose was on Saturday late afternoon. That would put his burial Wednesday late afternoon. In this case the Feast of the Unleavened Bread would be on Thursday,

Currently in Israel, if you stay in a religiously run hotel they will Friday afternoon lay out a large buffet table. Starting Friday evening until Saturday evening that is the food hotel guests get food from. When Saturday evening starts the buffet table is cleared and normal food service is restored.

Because read my previous post. I lived with the regular Sabbath observence when in Israel for work. Spent several weeks there in total with one trip 6 weeks long. I arrived one time during Passover Week. Lived with the regular and annual Sabbath observances. The Israeli observences are straight out of the Bible with the rabbis controlling the observences.

Much of Israel is secular but many areas are controlled by religious Jews, there the Sabbath and annual Sabbaths are done according to the Bible.
 
The reason Easter bounces around the calendar is to keep it aligned with Passover. Jesus didn't break the religious observances. Where did you get that foolishness. He and the disciples were observing Passover week when he was taken and crucified. The sequence then was as I described it.
 
Carefully read the sequence in the Gospels keeping in mind the annual and weekly Sabbaths. One gospel uses the term "high day" denoting an annual Sabbath.

You mentioned the empty tomb on Sunday morning so that meant the latest Jesus rose was on Saturday.

Why couldn't that have been between 6pm Saturday evening until the next morning sum 12 hours later for all the time between that is Sunday, the night part of a Jewish day is always the first part of a day then follows a sunrise until dusk the end of a day.

i think it'd be more interesting and ultimately more fruitful to search out what this has to do with the time between His crucifixion and His resurrection than to go back and forth for 25 pages about how to properly count to three :)

Hmm intriguing indeed not sure about the crucifixIin & resurrection meaning but maybe from the whole account may learn that Laban acted with great prudence and caution, and Jacob with great judgment.

You must have confused me with someone else . I rarely see anyone who gets it correct , I agree with everything you've stated so far .

The teacher I learned this from was an experts expert . Every detail was maticulously examined and verified .

Christ was buried at sunset wed .

The feast days play amore important role in this particular event . As you said , the feast of u leavened bread started on Thurs , which would be sunset wed . So that is why they had to hurry to get Him in the tomb . But what my teacher uncovered , is he took the time to research how often Could Christ have died , been buried , and rise , without breaking a Jewish feast day ?

Because the feast days were always starting and stopping , they were always overlapping over each other also . So every year every week would have different feast days . In other words ,no year would-be exactly the same .
so what he found , was that those 3 days and 3 nights were fulfilled on the only week they could have without breaking a Jewish feast day , going back or forwards thousands of years . Everything that happened in preparation to those exact three days was God the Father showing off so to speak . That is the real story here .

Never heard of them overlapping the Bible is pretty clear on what days they start and stop.

Passover on 14th day first month a one day event, on the 15th first day of unleavened bread for seven.
