I'm guessing that's some reference to illegal voting? Yeah, I get it.
The problem that I see with that is that the people who have been charged with such crimes as voting a deceased or invalid family members ballot is that the cases all seem to apply to one party over the other. I remember reading a couple of years back about a man who sent in his dead mother's ballot.
We'll see. I would advise everyone to just vote wisely. Gather your evidence, check it all out, and cast your vote. That's the best that any of us can do. And is the only legal thing that we can do.
God bless and vote wisely,
Ted
The problem I see is that the percent of people calling for audits has steadily increased over the last four years. Polling indicates more than 50% of the public believes that we have election fraud (not to be confused with stolen elections). In fact the percent of people in polls who believe some election fraud takes place has been as high as 70%.
Now to me that warrants a full audit. An audit is not a "recount". That is idiotic.
No, an audit will have a canvass, so if 20 people mailed in ballots from one address you want to confirm that 20 registered voters live at that address.
You want to check voter registration and remove dead people and people who have moved out of the state.
You want mail in ballots to have a very stringent signature verification since it is well known the easiest way to commit fraud in an election is with mail in ballots.
You want video surveillance at every spot that mail in ballots can be deposited to make sure people are not stuffing more than one ballot into the box, as that is potentially fraudulent (there are exceptions if your immediate family member is an invalid or very sick).
You also want watermarks on the ballots to make sure people are not using phony ballots.
You also need to correlate paper ballots with the votes to make sure no one ran the ballots through more than one time.
You also want every polling place under constant video surveillance.
Now the cost to do all this is estimated to be in the millions of dollars. In fact they complained that a full audit of all 50 states could cost upwards of $100 million. To me that is trivial, they sent $160 billion to Ukraine without so much as a debate. Trust in our election process is foundational to our Republic. Without it we will have a civil war. So complaining about an expense less than 1% of what we sent to Ukraine. That only reenforces the feeling that we are being lied to and cheated.
I was a teacher, our school was audited every three years. Fortune 500 companies are audited. It seems very reasonable to me that every five years or so the entire system of voting in this country should be audited. Will it cost money? Sure, but imagine how much it would cost us if we don't do it? Next thing you know we'll have 20% inflation. The average US household spent $72,000 in 2022. 20% inflation will cost the average American household $14,000 a year. Meanwhile the average American Tax bill was a little less than $18,000. So the cost of the audit would be 0.002% of that every five years or 0.0005%. It is certainly reasonable that the audit could prevent a certain amount of corruption and fraud so that it saved taxpayers money.
Who knows stolen elections could result in millions of illegal aliens coming into the country, or State governments releasing felons onto the streets, or even WW3.
To me it is far easier to deal with election fraud if it was not so pervasive as to actually cause an election to be stolen. Obviously once the people who are in power got there by stealing the election they will fight against an audit. They'll accuse people asking for audits of being paranoid, poor losers, any insult they can. Soon you will have people who are idiots in power, people with dementia or that seem more suited for teaching kindergarten.
