So the OT prophets lied? There is no third temple. Jesus Himself is THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE of the temple. The New Covenant is spiritual.

Then their will be a third temple built. No, not at all
Then their will be a third temple built.
I agree with you the only temple that matters is spiritual temple built by the Christ and the apostles and prophets.
But the prophets say a third temple will be build it wil be desecrated by w world leader. And will mark the begining of the greatest tribulation this world has ever seen.
How about Ezekiel 37? Matt 24? Daniel 9 For starters?Would you cite the scriptures you're referring to?
How about Ezekiel 37? Matt 24? Daniel 9 For starters?
Ezekiel 37 has not happened yet. It is yet futureSure. Thanks for the thoughtful discussion!
Where do any of these scriptures speak of a third, physical, rebuilt temple? I could see an eisegetical, presupposition-based argument for it in Daniel 9, but purely based on contextual exegesis? Not at all.
On what do you base that claim?Ezekiel 37 has not happened yet. It is yet future
Dan 9 speaks of an abomination of desolation ain the middle of a week after a prince who is to come confirms a covenant, which occures after the city and temple are destroyed and left desolate (which remains until this day)
in Matt 24. Jesus speak of this abomination of desolation. Which needs a temple and holy place for this to occur. After which there will be great tribulation so severe. If he does jesus himself does not return no flesh will survive.
1. The northern kingdom was destroyed by the Assyrians, And has never been returnedOn what do you base that claim?
Because the city and temple has been desolate since ad 70 Daniel 9 says the city will lie desolate until a determined time.Again, on what do you base that claim ("which remains until this day")? Daniel spoke about something in *his* future (not necessarily *our* future).
yep. 70 AD.. but thats not an abomination of desolation. Which occured in the middle of a weekThe city and temple were horrifically destroyed in Daniel's future, and in *our* past.
Again, the temple and Holy place existed after Jesus and Daniel's time. And there was a tribulation. Jesus' warnings in Matthew 24 were addressed to those people standing in front of Him, 2000 years ago.
1. The northern kingdom was destroyed by the Assyrians, And has never been returned
2. The lower kingdom was partially removed by Babylon. But eventually completely removed by Rome in 70 AD.
3. They are stil scattered all over the earth
4. They have never been united as one kingdom
5. They have never stopped their sin
6. They have never had one leader.
7 the gentile nations who took them have never been punished
Because the city and temple has been desolate since ad 70 Daniel 9 says the city will lie desolate until a determined time.
yep. 70 AD.. but thats not an abomination of desolation. Which occured in the middle of a week
What happened in 70 AD was not even close the the great tribulation, which will be the greatest the earth has ever seen. Jesus said AFTER the abomination of desolation this time would occure. The Abomination of desolation happens in the middle of a 7 year period. Daniel; states this time by this world leader will last for 3.5 year. And both Jesus and daniel; state that it will be the return Christ which puts this tribulation period to an end.
Last I looked, Jesus has not returned yet
Prove otherwise. This is full of presumption.
Prove otherwise.
When did Israel and Judah get restored as one nation again?
21 “Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel;
they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again
but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
When Did Israel stop their sin?
23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions;
they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them
These are spiritual truths (which ALL of the OT prophets understood them to be). It was the religious leaders that insisted that they were temporal truths.
how can they be spiritual truths? How can prophecy do what God intended it to do if it is just a spiritual truth?
Prophecy is to prove God is God. If we spiritualise his truth. Then prophecy has no meaning.
OT prophets did not understand them to be spiritual truths. When Jeremiah told Judah what would happen to them, did he think it was be a spiritual truth? (What he prophesied actually happened)
When Daniel prophesied that Babylon, then media Persian then greece them rome would rule over jerusalem. Was it a spiritual truth?
Prophecy is speaking about things which WILL happen in the future, and they come true. Jesus read from prophecy, and sai those things had come true. he fulfilled prophecy as it was said hw would fulfill as the suffering servant.
Prophecy has a purposeThe scriptures tell us that all men have knowledge that God exists. We have the scriptures to prove His plan of salvation.
The spiritual truths are those that refer to Jesus, Israel, the Church, the world, etc. after the physical incarnation and judgment. The Christian age has no end.
Prophecy has a purpose
We are not talking about just literature.
If prophecy is not literally fulfilled. There is no purpose.
Under Ezra’s guidance, a group of Jews returned to Jerusalem and resumed sacrifices to God. These sacrifices were performed before work had even begun on the second temple (Ezra 3:1-2, 3-4, 5-6).
This shows that only an altar is necessary for sacrifices to be offered. A temple is not a requirement.

i agree that their Covenant vanished ...but uhh, i care because this link says Jews are doing sacrifices over on the muslim land.Who cares? There is no physical altar or temple that can or will be recognized by God in any way (negatively or positively) at this point.
It didn't vanish, but was fulfilled already. Their sacrifices mean absolutely nothing, so it's nothing to worry about other than that they are perpetuating false religion... just like everyone else outside of Christianity.i agree that their Covenant vanished ...but uhh, i care because this link says Jews are doing sacrifices over on the muslim land.
