A friend of mine at work, who i can't thank enough and may God bless him, made me aware of a very useful app which tells you what's good or bad in the products that you buy which include not only food, but other things inside your house such as toothpaste, shampoo etc.
After scanning a lot of things around the house i found that some products were on the 'bad' scale for additives.

The app is called Yuka and their website is: https://yuka.io/en/
You can search for this app in respective app stores in Google for Android and the AppStore in iPhones.
I am already very picky about what i put into my house but this app was an eye opener in terms of seeing extra additives that i missed when reading the labels.
This app sometimes will flag something as "bad" for having too much calories which sometimes is not a bad thing when you have growing teenager boys so use your judgment and look at all the details after each scan.

Here's an example of a bread which i buy at Trader Joe's when i don't have time to make my own.

It is basically flagging it for too much sodium.

Just wanted to share this with you all so you can use it to scan products when you're at the supermarket.
It also gives you suggestions for healthier alternatives when it finds a low rated product.

God bless you all and stay healthy.

I'm into this also, after finding out baking soda with coconut oil makes a great toothpaste cost wise, benefit wise & healthy. I already have been using 100% Pure Castile Soap w/natural good oils which is the best for hair and body, no chemicals.
Thanks for posting the website, I'm sure I'll be visiting it a lot, lol.

My wife was very surprised to see that some of her organic hair products were not rated that good, except one of them.
Same for our kid's deodorant.
It was very interesting. It basically tells you what the additive is and what the risks of that additive are according to 4 sources which also include FDA.
We are mainly going to look at the harmful additives basically, we're not paying attention to calories or if it has a little sodium or things like that.

Glad to hear that. We also are changing a few items around the house too, which we thought were 'good enough'.

My grandfather lived to be 98 year old and in his whole life he never had a medication and his mind worked perfectly until the end.
Same with my grandmother who lived to be 96.
They had little food back then, but it wasn't cluttered with many additives. So now, we are doing the opposite. We have to sift through 1000 choices, so we can find 'the most pure'.

Both my parents are diabetic and we've kept a good diet for them over the years (10+ years) but this app helps to fine-tune that diet even better.
