If we take in the ot writings we will better understand the New Testament words . The Old Testament tells a story israel chosen and exalted by God , thier part was to constantly worship false gods while rejecting the true God who chose them. This is where the imagery of a beautiful woman who becomes a harlot having changed her garments me shoes up holding a cup filled with her fornications
Where we differ is that I believe the imagery in Revelation concerns the whole earth and not just Israel. We can certainly learn from God’s dealings with Israel but the prostitute is now global. She was once God’s favored and now she is the mother of all harlots. This is a spirit that began with Eve and is ultimately expressed as a world-dominating spirit in the end times.

I use “structure” to separate the apostate, generally, from the true. It is possible all began within the true, but, like we see in Revelation, not all continue as the true church. Many saints came out of the churches whose end is to be spit out of the mouth of the Lord, for example. How should the Lord deal with churches who have signed legal agreements with the the government to limit and align their messages to the government’s standard? Where once God winked at this His patience will have to come to an end.

The woman who goes into the wilderness is the one who comes out of the wilderness. When we see her again we see that she is embroiled with the rulers of the earth who saved her for its own purpose: she is now a prostitute to the world and will give politicians, and the basest of men, her vote if they say the right things. And why not? We already know what she is. Now we’re haggling about price. Lately, the price has been cheaper gas, lower taxes, employment. What a rag when compared to the Lord who is The Truth!
You are confused my friend. The Woman is all Israel who REPENT as seen in Zechariah 13:8-9. God protects her for 1260 days until Jesus' Second Coming. The Rev. 17 Harlot is (let me make it easy for you an d simple to boot) ALL False Religion of ALL Time, that's why she has the blood of the Saints of old AND the blood of the Martyrs of Jesus on her hands. She is Islam, she is Jupiter, she Baal, she is the Egyptian Sun gods, she is Zeus, she is modern day Humanism etc. etc.

Rev. 12, 13, 17 and 18 al start at the exact same time and lasts for 1260 days, the ALL END with Jesus' Second Coming. This is why knowing the TIMELINES are so important, Satan can't confuse people who know the timelines.

I appreciate your concern but it's unfounded.

We see the woman flee into the wilderness. The next time we see into the wilderness we see the mother of Harlots emerge. This is very much the same pattern we see with Israel (beloved and then the harlot) that we see with the church (righteous before God and then wicked and sexually immoral). And yes, we agree that she represents all corrupt religion in the world. But you are forgetting a point I made earlier:

"In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God."

These are not people in other religions. These are people who claim to worship the true Living God. Today, that must include those who believe they are in right standing with the Lord. In our list of those who oppose the saints we must include people from the Evangelicals, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Pentecostals, etc.

For those with understanding, this is happening on a global scale now. Putin has been preparing for his version of a crusade for nearly a decade. With backing from the Russian Orthodox church, he has invaded a sovereign nation in order to restore the church's hegemony in the region. Of course it is mixed with political aspirations and motivations but the support of the people was secured through a religious promise of restoration and greatness. It has happened before. It is happening again. For those who can see it they will not be fooled. Let me be plain: The harlot and the beast represent the unholy alliance between the religious systems of the world and the political systems of the world. For example: the force behind the ancient crusades and the current Russian crusade, and those in the U.S. who vote for the basest of men (Trump et. al), storm the Capital Building, etc.

Did you not hear what I just told you? The book of Revelation IS NOT in Chronological order, thus the only order is this, Rev. 8, 9 and 16 is the judgments/wrath of God, all other chapters after ch. 8 are thus Parenthetical Citation chapters, telling of events tat happen in the other three chapters at the same time. You will never be able to understand Revelation without first understanding the TIMELINE.

I'm providing the understanding that is needed and one that also mutes the inserted notion that is it not chronological when it is, in fact, chronological. In the harlot we witness the ultimate and final expression of the religion/politics coalition. It's quite serious. Each person doing what they think is right in their own understanding (lawlessness) is clearly rampant in the world today.

I'm also willing to concede that those within such a religion/political amalgamation will be unable to discern the truth because of the powerful delusion from God.

"Do you not remember that I told you these things while I was still with you? And you know what is now restraining him, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and annihilate by the majesty of His arrival.
The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness."

This is akin to the delusion that allowed the Jews to kill Jesus. Likewise, those caught up with the Harlot and the Beast will seek to kill the saints and believe they are serving God when doing so.

“Where we differ is that I believe the imagery in Revelation concerns the whole earth and not just Israel.”

then we don’t differ lol there are certain parts that are about only israel and other parts about all nations in earth.

Some is about these folk and how they get there in the kingdom

“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and some is about these folk and how they get into the same kingdom

“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Which of course that covers all nations but the order is first he came to the Jews and then he was sent to the Gentiles “ all
Nations and people so I don’t think we differ on that part

The prostitute specifically I don’t know brother if one reads Ezekiel and Jeremiah even just those two prophets it becomes clear the harlot is specifically Jerusalem to Me anyways plus a lot of what Jesus told them makes it even more clear

but I do agree the world is going to suffer the same end but see the whore we know is a specific city who was set to be the crown city over all People ( the ot kingdom of Israel the city being Jerusalem specifically who became corrupt )

“And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but I do understand what your saying revelation also shows the corruption and destruction of the whole earth see everything began from Jerusalem and then spread out to the nations.

“And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬M
but indeed the church would follow the same course beginning pure and good and ending as a false church but for the believing remnant just like with osraels remnant who believed forst even though the nation was corrupt it’s a pattern for the church.

I don’t think we’re really in opposition at all just specifically in the vision I believe it’s Jerusalem according to the ot prophets words pertaining to Jerusalem pouring out her cup of fornications into the nations

this is totally off subject but have you ever noticed this

“I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand. Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭

“And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:14-15‬ ‭

Or this

“Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:11-12, 14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭11:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elijah : who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:29-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Only those two men are ever seen with Jesus glorified . Moses wrote the law and Elijah was the foremost prophet of God . Who together speak of this message , they witness of Jesus

“ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

…And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:26-27, 44-47‬ ‭

The point is the prophets and law contain the understanding of revelation. The entire book corresponds to ot law and prophets. So we’re seeing past , present and future to show the whole message of what is yet to come and what will be

“Write the things which thou hast seen, ( past )

and the things which are, ( johns present )

and the things which shall be hereafter;”( future )
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, ( past)

and one is, ( johns present )

and the other is not yet come; ( future ) and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

sorry it off subject just a consideration when studying the book revelation or “ “book of apocalypse “

Not off subject at all. I always appreciate your input and am enriched by it. I understand this line of reasoning as I once held it. I believe now, that what was, is, and will be is the final ultimate story of God's dealing with man. Together, past present and future create one picture. The mystery is this: that all His dealing with man culminates into this apocalypse: quite literally the revealing of all. When we see the things spoken of arise in the earth we have the benefit of knowing the end from the beginning as there is a clear record of it found in the OT or the NT.

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him."

The Book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ: John sees all things gathered in one in Christ, all that is in heaven and earth.

The OT serves us in that we can clearly see the historical account of the predecessor when dealing with the reality in the final Revelation.

The spirit of the harlot, for example, is first seen in Eve when, after being deposed by her husband she has Cain and proclaims "Now I have a man!" Cain's offering to God reveals this spirit as he brings the work of his own hands to God. Confronted by God, yet refusing to repent, he instead murders his brother Abel who was righteous. This is the offspring of the harlot targeting the sons of God.
Incidentally, this is how we understand the first "6" in "666". It's the number of a man, the spirit of whom is first manifested in Cain who offers the work of his own hands to God and kills the righteous son. In one generation, murder and genocide entered the children of the woman who was deceived and then scorned by her husband.

We see the "60" in the example of Nebuchadnezzar and then the final "600" in the amalgamation of the final harlot and the beast: the religious system and the system of men. But this is anothe thread, my friend.

Yes, the "woman clothed with the sun" is Israel, and the "garland of twelve stars" are the twelve tribes of Israel, and the "male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron" is Messiah who is the Son of Israelites.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness
After Messiah ascended there was great tribulation, and when they saw the abomination of desolation stand in the Holy Place, Israel fleed to the wilderness for 42 months. Just as Messiah commanded them.
And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Now the MOTHER OF HARLOTS, is "backslidding Israel":

Jeremiah 3:6 The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

There are two women:
Israel is "clothed with the sun", and has upon her head a "crown of twelve stars".
"backslidding Israel" was "arrayed in purple and scarlet", and upon her head a "name was written": MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The scarlet beast that has ten horns, is the fourth beast, the Roman Empire:

Daniel 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

What happened was Rome was iron, but because of Messiah, the kingdom was divided, part iron, part clay:
Daniel 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

This is why Rome fell, iron does not mix with clay. Rome and Church are two words that, when combined, can't make sense, possibly.

@DanielLL we agree on a lot of issues, my friend, just not all of them.

Historically, and at one point in time, the male child was Jesus. In the complete reveal, the male child is the many-membered Christ, of which those in Christ are part. This is the last Adam complete.

male child was Jesus
Yes the male Child was Jesus, then after the Child was "caught up to God": the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The "rest of her offspring" is the Body of Christ. The saints who are in Christ. The Firstborn "male Child" is Christ.

It says in Revelation 12:5 that the woman “bore a male Child who was to rule all the nations with a rod of iron.” This is clearly Christ, but equally clearly Christ doing it through His body. And this is not some new invention. This was always what God intended. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God would be made known to principalities and powers. These were things that God hid in Himself for long ages past, according to Paul in Ephesians 3. This is not a new thought.

This is the reveal.

Satan then makes war against those who have the promise in God but are not positioned in Christ. These are the Jews and the church. Being called out does not grant authority. That is earned through sanctification.

What do you mean "not positioned in Christ"? Satan made war with the saints who are in Christ, who keep His commandments and have His testimony. Not with the ones outside of Christ.

So, where do we find the woman again? Or, rather, when if John carried into the wilderness again and what does he see.
We have to flip to Revelation 17.
...
This is the same woman who fled into the wilderness in chapter 12.
Although I agree with your conclusions on some of things in the OP, I think you've made a HUGE assumption here that isn't substantiated.

Verse 3 says "A woman", not "THE woman [who was protected, or had the child, or from earlier in the book, etc]". To me, that is far from a firm foundation upon which you could build the rest of your claim.

But like I said, I think you got some of the other things correct in a good way.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

The following verses are thick with information, but I only want to focus on the Woman.

This is Revelation 12 verse 1:

“1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. 2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.”

So, we see her first here.

To continue:

“3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.”

This male child is not Jesus. This is the corporate Christ represented by the fully mature saints. The “rod of iron” and the “throne” establish Christ’s power and authority: they are unmatched and unquestionable.

But notice the woman flees into the wilderness.

After this, the angels are thrown down to the earth. They leave their spiritual abode for the temporal abode in the earth. This is why the dragon is angry: now he is ruled by time and his time is short.

To continue:

“Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent."

Again, the woman goes to the wilderness. This is the unfolding of a singular event.

15 "So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Water is what in the scriptures? It can be the word, or it can signify people. Perhaps it is both here: a curse carried to the woman by many people. BUT, the earthed helped the woman. Isn’t that strange? When has the earth ever helped the church? It swallowed the people and their curse. Could it be the earth saw value in saving the woman? So, the dragon turns to make war with the rest of her offspring. This is not the mature male child, these are those from the woman (church) who are their own groups.

So, where do we find the woman again? Or, rather, when if John carried into the wilderness again and what does he see.
We have to flip to Revelation 17.

Verse 3 reads: “So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness.”

So, John is carried into the wilderness to see what?

Verses 1 and 2: “Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This is the same woman who fled into the wilderness in chapter 12. So, this is why the earth, typically an enemy of the church/woman, saved the woman from the attack of the beast in Revelation 12:15,16; the woman was useful to the earth. And notice that she now sits on many waters which is what the dragon spewed out of his mouth. This is now her foundation: the curse of the enemy and the support of the people (many waters).

Fornication refers to improper intimacy with the woman. The rulers of the earth use the woman for their political gain and the woman uses the earth to gain influence over the people.

Verse 3 continues into verse 5: “And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

These names of blasphemy are likely any name under which the church gathered as a symbol of their identity.

So, the woman, who fled into the wilderness in chapter 12, becomes the harlot we see again in Chapter 17. I believe this is happening in our day. As I said in another thread almost of of "Christendom" is being exposed as frauds. Those who remain in the exposed churches acquiesce to the evil in their midst until their consciences are seared.

These are serious times.
Remember that there were ten virgins in the parable of the virgins, and five were saved while five were unsaved. It is the same way in your look at the woman. The woman clothed with the sun is a picture of saved persons, who are clothed with Christ. They have the moon under their feet, meaning that they have gotten victory over the penalty of the law.

The woman in Rev 17 and 18 is a picture of those who are unsaved. It is a different group of persons. The true believers are instructed to "Come out of her, my people ". The true believers are told not to partake in her errors. So, ultimately, it is a different woman.
