So do you believe Jerusalem is going to be destroyed twice? I'm confused. The great and notable Day of the Lord is the Second coming.
AD67-73, the destruction of Judea ( & Jerusalem) were the Days Of Vengeance.
Two different things completely.

Also consider that a day is as a thousand years. 7 days of the literal creation is a foreshadow of the spiritual creation... God worked 6 literal days and on the 7th day he rested. God has been working on the spiritual creation for 6000 years and we are in or about to enter into the 7000th year.
It is the great and notable (epiphanes) Day Of The Lord Peter is talking about here.
Epiphanes means Revelation, so he is talking about the Revelation Of Jesus Christ.
Will Jerusalem be destroyed twice?
Well, yes I think so. I think when Jesus returns he will destroy the 3rd Temple with the brightness of his coming. (That is my personal view)
I sent you a pm.Many early Church fathers held to this view of a 7000 year plan that God had laid out.
J7 do you believe in a literal Kingdom as well? Do you think there will be animal sacrifices in the 1000 year reign or how do you perceive it?
All I know is that Jesus suffered a lot, and then the Church has suffered and continues to suffer a lot.
Then Jesus returns as King, and the Church joins him to rule as Kings also.
I saw your fathers as the firstripe (early figs) in THE FIG tree... If the fathers were fruit from the fig tree, what was the fig tree?
Hosea 9:10 KJV
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
If Jesus was just cursing the fig tree for the heck of it and it didn't tie into Israel then maybe you can explain these verses. Jesus cursed the fig tree and PRESENTLY it whithered. THEN when the disciples saw the withered fig tree, they asked Jesus "How soon is the fig tree withered away". If the fig tree was already whithered when the disciples saw it, why were they asking Jesus when would the fig tree would be whithered away?
Matthew 21:19-20 KJV
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
[20] And when the disciples saw it , they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

My friend God was speaking metaphorically Like grapes....as firstripe It was a comparison. Basically He was saying that it was refreshing, pleasant to see their fathers...He was not saying they were figs.
How do you know that it's metaphorical rather than symbolic? Is the lamb of God metaphorical or symbolic.![]()
You know that I'm a word weaver....I know what a metaphor is....All metaphors use the words 'like' or 'as' The Holy Spirit on Pentecost....Was He a rushing mighty wind? Or did he come like a rushing mighty wind? A big wind would have caused an uproar, damage etc....When He came in, it sounded like a big wind....A metaphor.
