I just posted a response to this and now it's gone lol. Here we go again.

Daniel 9 says HE shall CONFIRM the covenant with the many. A covenant existed before HE came, his coming confirmed -(etablished the truth or correctness of) the covenant when he came.

God promised Abraham that in his seed, all the world would be blessed.... speaking of Christ. When Christ came, that CONFIRMED the promise God made to Abraham.

Just to add, the bible says Abraham was to be the father of MANY nations... the covenant in Daniel is with the MANY. Jews can be saved, Gentiles can be saved, Muslims can be saved... MANY can be saved.
 
What you are saying KJ is that Christ made a covenant for one week. This is NOT the Abrahamic Covenant!!

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant,

No, I'm not saying that Christ made a covenant with anybody. I'm saying that Christ CONFIRMED the covenant that God made with Abraham. In other words it took one week (however long that really is) for Christ to PROVE to the world that what God told Abraham was valid and true.

Sometime during that week of confirming the promises made to Abraham, Christ caused the daily sacrice and oblation to cease.
 
The Abrahamic Covenant was confirmed when Jesus was born. So in one day really.

Or 33 years if you count his life.

I agree it was confirmed, it was confirmed when he lived a sinless life, fulfilled the law, died on the cross, rose from the dead.... everything he did confirmed the covenant.

I think the real confirmation was when Christ rose from the dead... Someone could have possibly faked it up until that point, at that point the deal is sealed, Christ was the son of God no doubt about it.

It had immediate effect but no enforcement, the enforcement didn't happed until ARMS stood on his part and the daily sacrifice was taken away.

Daniel 11:31 KJV
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice , and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
 
The Promise was Christ - The seed

The Covenant was Israel - The People.

God agreed with Abraham to turn his ancestors into a great body of people. But it is not fairy dust. God doesn't wave a magic wand and the Church appears in 7 years.

The Church needs to come to Christ. So I do not see why this would be anything to do with the Abrahamic Covenant. Jesus' ministry was 3.5 years anyhow
 
The problem is Christ made the sacrificial system null and void after 3.5 years, when he was crucified. So what do you do with the other 3.5 years.

I've heard all sorts of nonsense on that one.
