But the day of the Lord is not the rapture

I agree. Where did I say it was? The rapture occurs before the DotL judgments begin to fall. We are only promised recue from the judgments not the GT. and as shown above the DotL cannot occur until after the triple sign in the sky, which is after the GT.

Oh ok I see what your saying now my bad

I do not think a great focus should be on the rapture. There are responsibilities, and there is not spiritual growth without repentance. There is hope we have knowing of the rapture but it isn't coming to take any of us out of our troubles. So our thinking of the rapture should not become a distraction, there are things to happen before that.

It has been "close" since the idea was invented in the 19th century. Why not spend your time in discipleship instead of prognostication?

No.. Jesus said Rev behold I come quickly.. was He wrong? And no offense my brother you did not search at al on this. If you had you would have found as countless others have and myself 300-400ad and before that then after. I've shared many times it was written about in 1600. Now that all means they talked about Christ coming before the great tribulation.

I have no clue why some willingly freely make the choice to ignore this. :) all it proves .. it was talk about preached about believed. Christ told them.. that one that every thing He said happened.. every person He prayed for healed set free delivered. Then told them I go to my Fathers house to prepare a place for you and if I go I will come again and take you get you receive you unto my self so "where I am you will be". "where" I go you know and how. Unless I am really wrong here He is in heaven seated at the right hand of the Father.

So He goes up in the clouds and the angels say why look up He's coming back the same way. If I was there and saw everything Christ did.. all that has never been written about on earth. Knowing He cannot lie... He just told me not to long ago.. He will come back and receives us unto Himself so where He is (heaven) we will be. Yeah I would be living my life knowing any moment He is coming for us.

Paul aske about those that died.... what about them? Christ will bring with Him those that fell asleep (in Him) comes in the clouds shout voice trump dead rise frist...don't worry they will not go up before us.. we alive and remain will change go up together with them to be with Christ forever. Then tells them what? Go confront each other with these words.

He GOD promised no one tomorrow we only have this one moment and how do some choose to live it? Me when I see these things happening I then look up and lift up my heads, for my redemption draweth nigh. And that is my friend.. my best friend my savoir and my GOD the king of kings and lord of lord! Yes amen. There is nothing else worthy to think always about... to watch always how I live for Him am I sharing Him with all those I see? Do I leave a trace of Jesus behind me? ...the song playing perfect timing.. right now "He is everything to me"

I can not say since we all have free will and He will never go against our will. And we all know PRE MID POST is not set in stone.. there is no clear verse or we would not be talking. So... again I watch for Him in the moment I have.. I will never miss Him. This is what I believe.. and I read His word and its what I freely willingly receive.. I am watching for my lord YESHUA/JESUS CHRIST

I have heard for a long time now that the rapture is close many have tried to predict it's timing but all have failed. but I had a dream and it makes me wonder about the rapture as I know everyone has different stances on it, but why give a rapture dream if it is not so?
This is the dream
a clock counting down and in this dream I somehow knew this clock was about the rapture I was on a pedestal and so were other people these pedestals rotated around the clock and then suddenly I was whisked away and the devil was searching for me hunting me down seeking to destroy me but he couldn't find me it was as if I was hidden or something.

Then another scene happens and I saw satan sitting on a throne and I said to a person next to me is that satan?

Then satan heard me and called me over by name I walked up the stairs where his throne was and he brought a women out who looked miserable and beaten he threatened to kill her if I didn't bow down to him.

I laughed and said if I recall I worship the God of the impossible anything you do he can undo then the dream ended

another user here mentioned the tribulation starting in september and then the rapture happening after a number of days and that got me thinking because I recieved this dream recently
is the rapture or the tribulation actually close? is there something that would imply this?

Mar 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

If you believe in a resurrection of the saints why would you need a dream about it.

If you do not believe in a resurrection why would you need a dream about it when you have a Bible to read.

God will not give you the day and hour of it so why do you need a dream about it.

But the Bible tells us when it is close so why do you need a dream about it.

Sometimes a dream is a dream.

I do not have dreams like that.

Nothing to do with anything that would portray what will unfold but I do have dreams where I am at Church but it is normal.

I think if we follow God we have the Bible to tell us so maybe it is required we read and understand not receive a dream.

But I do not know.

Although a person may have a dream about how they should reach out to certain people, somebody that might get hurt, and things like that.

But to have a dream to tell us of the events that will unfold when it is written in the Bible I do not know for it seems not.

Paul and other saints telling us what will unfold by a vision yes because they tell us written in the Bible.

This is what I believe.. and I read His word and its what I freely willingly receive.. I am watching for my lord YESHUA/JESUS CHRIST
Praise God..
Watch and be ready..
But be careful, the deceiver, will come as an angel of light.. he will claim to be Jesus.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

How do you know?

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

The bible calls it the blessed hope.
The rapture is the groom fetching the bride.
The amount of emphasis varries fom person to person.
Those in love with Jesus ,and passionate about it, are more likely to be emphasizing being raptured.

Why not be God imitators while you sit and wait for "salvation"?
Yes
We do both.
We can "enjoy the ride".

The goal is to:
Walk with Him.
Be a river of life.
Build his kingdom. (Evangelize & Discipline)
Imitate Him...(as you say)
Enjoy His presence.
Wait for his coming

I can do all that.

I do not know if it would surprise you or if you just will not believe it, there still are believers who will neglect responsibilities that God's people should have here with trusting God will just take them out before serious consequences come from that. This is very untrue. There is wrath in God's righteous judgment coming on the unrepentant throughout the world when the redeemed in Christ with their repentant faith are caught out from this world to be with him. And it will be fair in God's righteousness. Revelation 11:18

Lol.. I lol (Not you at all) I found my self head going down.... thinking.. oh not this again. Years ago when Paul and Jan were young. Well get back to that. One day I was thinking.. you hear "rapture" was started in what 1830 Darby.. blah blah blah. Read the msg so forth so on. So I wondered .. did anyone ever talk about this before 1830? Oh man you really have to search. I found one.. later there was more then in the 1600's it was written about. So what I found was a Hymn writer and preacher wrote about this you could see his scrolls. But I was so unhappy. Well this was to late.. he did this in 300-400ad haha. Yeah for me that was to late lol. Then one day watching Paul and Jan Crouch a show that was on once a week I think this man talked about Caught up.. talked about this Hymn writer showed the scrolls. Later shows showed people that talked about "Caught up" before 300-400ad.

So to say it started in 1900 is not fact not true at all. Why I lol put my head down was.. I'm 64.. this was what 20y ago I think.. something like that and all that time. Praise GOD. Then you have say.. what does all this proof? It was talked about preached about.. the 12/120/3000 all knew Christ was coming any moment.

Its ok.. there are those out there that believe we have another 100years here. Yes its so wonderful awesome even to know our personal belief is the true one. Me? Hmm seems GOD gave me another day.. not going to dive in to time (future) I was never promised. I will live for Him now. Now is all I have been given. So if He comes now I am ready.. I watch I pray I seek I keep my eyes on Him. I watch what I do what I say that I think.. words of life. I read Christ making me a home.. if He goes He will come back and receive us get us take us to where (sorry where is He) He is we will be. Where He goes I know and how. Then I read Pauls 1st letter bringing comfort to those that wondered about the dead and blah blah blah.

What always gets me is.. Paul didn't see a time.. He said "we which remain". You can't change that by adding verse from some other letter/book. I love sharing this.. great man of GOD home now was preaching said "I am post trib but...if Christ comes now? I am ready" That man was old.. knew studied the word of GOD and knew .. no one knows. If I am not ready I am not watching and He comes now? No I don't believe I would go.. some "Christians" say you will but.. na not putting my faith with them

Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

No.. Jesus said Rev behold I come quickly.. was He wrong?
A day with the Lord is like a thousand years, a thousand years is like a day, so you tell me how quickly is quickly.

Also, consider this a possible translation error. The Greek word for "quickly" is closer to "rapidly", "speedily", "promptly". Lord Jesus compared his coming with lightning flash, does lightning flash appear "quickly" or "shortly" at any random time? Obviously no, it's usually coupled with rain, and there're clear signs such as heavy clouds, temperature drop and wind blow. But once these signs are in place, a lightning flash is expected to appear at any given moment.

"When you see these signs, lift up your heads for your redemption is drawing near."
The point isn't just "He's coming soon", it's "are you still watching?!?"
Jesus said "Blessed are those He finds watching."

Passover is the day of watching according to Exodus 12 and that day is Passover

42 It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.
