Yes, traditions of men should never replace God’s Word, neither should catechisms (although helpful), confessions, doctrinal statements etc.. The heavy push of the last three as much hurt the Reformation as it did help. One is left scratching their head wondering what ever happened to ‘sola scriptura’.

Nope, Peter said what I have said and is in agreement with Paul. I notice in your little drawing though you deny both their verses about it so I will post it again for you and underline.

You do not even understand how you conflate two separate issues.

PS~ the verses you posted in #185 have nothing to do with being born again.

Peter says that's the hope and faith that you will be born again. Peter says you are not saved by the vain traditions of your fathers. Peter also says, like Paul whose verse you omitted from your marvelous Philippians drawing, to work your time out with fear.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused
us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)

^ That is past tense. We who believe by grace through faith in the shed righteous blood of
Christ are already born again. The resurrection at the end of this age is a separate issue.

Jesus has already resurrected. Our hope being in our own resurrection through Him only happens because we are already born again with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This hope in a future event does not in any way deny that we are already born again. You conflate.

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

Open your eyes, dude.

Talk is not the issue. Love is not a matter of speech, doctrine or feelings. It's an act of the will, as Don Francisco sings. How anyone can turn love/grace into law is beyond my comprehension.

I truly believe that Jesus meant that the "rock" he was referring to was, as has been pointed out by others, not Peter the man but the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.

yes peters acknowledgement and faith that Jesus is the son of God confession of faith. Jesus also tells him there that it’s only the father in heaven who convicts us of that truth.

You know, this is the “Nicolaitans” in Revelation. It’s not some historic figure or a certain sect. In etymology, this word is the combination of “nico” and “laitan”, “nico” means overcome or conquer, “laitan” means average people, specially the amateurs, laymen, commoners. Put them back together, you can see that this is referring to elitism, that a few “experts” being the gatekeepers of knowledge between God and their congregation.

Jesus gave it as law...

Matthew 22:36-39 (NASB) "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'

A law only He kept sufficiently, that He may be gracious to us.

By Law I mean the 10 commandments.
