I had a question
And you had the answer
Shaking for the moment
It was just what I didn’t want to
Keep the hurt a secret
I don’t want to keep on hurting
For the love I give to you
It’s one at the verge of breaking.

Isn’t it convenient to have a past,
And ask for complete forgiveness?
And then push it to the edge,
And force you to be ashamed of it?

But I’m better than most
More wise and more loyal
I hold the truth in my soul
And I turn it and mold it to my liking.

Then I saw the face
In my head ‘cause I couldn’t
I couldn’t even face
Such a frightening presence
And then I turned to You
Cause I had no one else
So curious to open that door
Now I just want to close it.

Isn’t it superfluous that I hear these voices?
To be a vessel for most undisclosed of things?
And then to scribble them in these tablets
To be the deliverer of great big wet lies.

But then I was chosen
But like with everything I am not needed
Vanity of vanities!
I became a pagan and renounced my God.

Then I had the audacity to imply hypocrisy
As if I didn’t know any better
The Lord be praised in his mercy
I am here, right back home.

I see you employ free verse with a few poetic techniques, such as repetition (And... And... And...; But... But... But; To be... To be...), along with one instance of alliteration (Vanity of vanities) and of internal rhyme (audacity... hypocrisy).

Regarding the message, it is intriguing but confusing, because of vacillation between faith and doubt as in the following:

you had the answer vs. I don't want to keep on hurting

ask for complete forgiveness vs. and I turn it to my liking

curious to open that door vs. Now I just want to close it

to be a vessel vs. to be the deliverer of great big wet lies

I was chosen vs. I became a pagan

At least the last line indicates a happy resolution of that conflict! PTL!
