You miss the point. I said that the Holy Spirit appeared like flames of fire. I've attended many meetings where people have been baptised in the Holy Spirit. Not once have I seen the appearance of fire. The Holy Spirit came on Jesus in the form of a dove. I've not seen that either.

As I said, the vast majority of Bible references to fire are in terms of judgement. Jesus rebuked the disciples for wanting to call down fire on some Samaritans. Sure, fire is God's cleansing agent. But there is no need to ask God for it. It will come anyway.

I asked God to send me a trial so that I could know where I was spiritually. It was one of the truly idiotic things I've prayed. My life fell apart within days. I lost my job, had little money, my car had problems and I struggled to deal with it all. Some time later , the Lord showed me my folly. He reminded me that the Lord's prayer includes "Do not lead me into hard testing".

Be careful what you pray for. You might get it.

There was a phenomenon called the Toronto Blessing in the 1990's. It's been around since the start of the 1900's, but only in isolated incidents such as the Azusa St revival and the Welsh revival to a lesser extent. I spoke to many Christians at the time as I wanted to know the source. They told me about phenomena that were obviously satanic in origin. Ignorance is no bliss. It is dangerous. Such things are the lying signs and wonders that Jesus warned us would come. Seeking God's fire was a common theme during the period the TB was going on. I seek God's mercy and grace, not His judgement. Jesus has been judged already for my sins. That's good enough for me.
no I understood you were saying he can appear like fire but that also isn't the only way he uses fire it is not just for judgement it also is a certain kind of fire that gives life.
And yes I learned the hard way to be careful what you ask or say I prophesied my own demise with my eyes saying to him that I didn't need these eyes to see and that I would be willing to give up these eyes in order to see through his not long after my eyes went almost completely blind and have been struggling with them ever since

I have actually seen the holy spirit appear in the form of fire before it was the first and only time I met the holy spirit personally he was a flame that was made out of rainbow colors that were so vivid and deep it was almost like the colors themselves were burning and upon touching this fire I was filled with life and felt God's power for the first time

So yes fire is used for judgement but also for life and empowerment

I was not meaning to argue against that but while yes he does speak in a still small voice at times we also cannot forget or water down the holy spirit either. But being baptized by holy fire is another one that I hear people speak of along with regeneration and even these things are often times compared to fire from God.

Now each person may have their own stance on what that fire is but the end result must always end with one thing and is to point to Christ our Lord. personally I stand closer to the spiritual aspect of his holy fire than I do using reason and logic and that is mainly because I have had encounters concerning this but I do agree that being emotional is not the same thing that is something that kind of freaked me out once especially that supposed laughter of the holy spirit that lady laughing like a maniac just deeply disturbed me

I was visiting a pentecostal church for the first time and it really taught a lot about the fire of God but the fire they were praying for was for a revival and instead of seeing revival I just saw fake tongues insane laughter or crying and people jumping out of their seats and running around the room.
You noted previously that "wind and fire can both be attributed to the holy spirit or God's divine power", overlooking the whispering or still small voice. It should also be noted that elevating emotion "waters down" the Holy Spirit's teaching of God's Word/Love, when the latter should be given precedence. This truth is illustrated by Paul's problem with the Corinthians (1CR 11:17 & 12:31-14:33).

/LA Marzuli has interesting info to share on this, remember the burning bush of Moses story, that wasn't consumed? Remember in the desert the pillar of fire led the Israelites?
I tried to copy this at a pertinent place.

No I said he can speak as a still small whisper I never overlooked it. I am also not elevating emotion look through the bible and see how wind and fire are so often seen when God is present the burning bush Elijah being taken in a whirlwind and chariot of fire for instance if you want more examples I am sure you could find them if you looked but in every instance that God is present almost all of them involve either wind or fire so no it is not emotionalism it is biblical

I am not wanting to argue and I do not disagree with you on your points either but you are not taking into consideration my points either.

Thanks for the clarification of "while yes he does speak in a still small voice at times we also cannot forget or water down the holy spirit either", and I am glad we agree that although wind and fire are biblical, emotion/excitement can be elevated by some folks in a way that waters down the importance of learning from God's whispering voice in order to grow spiritually--as was happening in Corinth. try John 16- Always best to read about 7 verses before and after to get context. This avoids cherry picking a verse and expounding on it. Best yet, take it to the Lord that e may lead you in ALL truth, as He promised.

it is a hebrew word you won't find it in english you have to search it up in hebrew
Photas (φωτα , φωτος) is a Greek word. I searched the entire bible for φωτα and it's not there. He said look in John 16, which is written in Greek, not Hebrew

Thank you brother!
Getting so in my ministry He showers so strongly people around experience Him as well, John Wimber spoke of how Jesus "Oozed" Holy Spirit presence, such as how the woman with the issue of blood knew she could touch the hem and be healed, Jesus was aware Holy Spirit power had gone out of Him. Peter walked to the synagogue and the power flowed out that the people lay their sick out and were healed as He passed.

Not so strange when we experience Him? May seem strange to those who hold to an outward form of godliness, denying the power as Jesus said most would in these days.
So thankful you have pursued His wisdom and receive His blessing.
Thank you brother, and His blessings to you and yours.:)(y):coffee:
