Does anyone here have or had live-in help. I.e, servants.
Maid, nanny, cook, secretary, butler, gardener...

I'm just curious or does that now belong in a by-gone era or only for the extremely wealthy or those with vast houses to maintain.
If you do or did, how did you treat them, were they like family?

We don’t have live in help, but we get
carers coming 3 times a day to help with
my elderly aunt.

One lady comes 6 days a week twice a day. She’s like family and we all know as much about each other as any family could.

She is a lovely lady doing a vital job and I certainly don’t regard her as a servant or the paid help. She is so much more than that. I don’t know what we would do without her.

She even texts me when she’s not working and I text her with funny things that have happened. When my aunt was in hosp she visited. We have a good chat and laugh when she comes.

As I Christian we have another responsibility to lead people to Christ. I’ve chatted to her about church to.

I have never had the type of help you're talking about, but I'd hope that people in these positions are treated like family and with respect.

I have been a nanny and I felt like I was part of the family. It was a blessing.

Im thinking rich people dont frequent these forums, too busy dealing with their underling employees, living the high life, or making/spedning money to chat with the likes of us...
