Hi, I noticed ABC channel is premiering "The Exodus" for Easter and was wondering if anyone else has seen this film. It is the 1950s(?) version. I was also wondering what could be the parallel for this movie and Easter. Usually we are accustomed to the various Jesus films that show the death and resurrection for Christ on Easter but today we have "The Exodus". Have you ever viewed salvation through the eyes of "The Exodus" where Pharaoh and his armies are our various troubles? Just love this movie and the costumes are great! Have a holy Easter everyone!

I see a 1960 film of that name starring Paul Newman. Is that the one you mean?
Though it is not at all the Biblical account.

Do you mean The Ten Commandments movie? It's been a tradition on ABC at Easter for a long time.

The connection between Easter and the Exodus is the Passover. Passover was established when the Hebrew slaves were delivered from bondage in Egypt. In the King James New Testament, where the word "Easter" is found, it's a "translation" of the Greek pascha, which means Passover. I put "translation" in quotes because it's not a translation at all, but a substitution.

That is the connection between Easter and the Exodus; it's about the Passover. And the Lord's sacrifice and resurrection of course, which took place during the Passover in Jerusalem.

It is the "Ten Commandments" with Charlton Heston as Moses. I did not get to watch the whole movie but I love the acting and the costumes are amazing. Beautifully done!
