What do you think of this scripture?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
To me it says this
“
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:
the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
Ezekiel 18:4 KJV
“for
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 3:23 KJV
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
1 Corinthians 15:3 KJV
and so if we believe that
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and so if I look more into it
“Know ye not, that
so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
…
knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
Romans 6:3-4, 6 KJV
And so a result of that is ….as he continues
“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that
the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?……… Wherefore,
my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even
to him who is raised from the dead, ( jesus ) that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
For
when we were in the flesh, the motions of
sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
Romans 7:1, 4-6
And even more
“For
in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And
ye are complete in him, which is
the head of all principality and power:
in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the
faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being
dead in your sins and
the uncircumcision of your flesh,
hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;”
Colossians 2:9-13 KJV
Paul’s writings are wonderful when we don’t twist them into another gospel he explains so much of the inner workings of doctrine like one example is baptism
