Yes, the series has good and not so good aspects, but if the "fuss" was as extensive as you portrayed,
then why are such details not mentioned in the NT?!
They ARE....highlighted and pointed out in several ways, several times.
Problem is that the writing is not modern Westernized and full of "wasted words".
Biblical Writing is extremely compact and efficient. A few sheets of paper are a LOT more than a days wages. Parents used to send blank paper to their children when they wanted them to answer their letters.
The writing was also small....hard to see in a world where there aren't any glasses.
The word "Goyim" is NOT a word we should be using in mixed company. It's the same as "gentile" but very crass and crude at the same time. We see the word "Gentile" used all the time in scriptures....but that's someone editing instead of translating.
Scriptures are absolutely full of insults, gutter speech, cajoling, and especially sarcasm with some excruciatingly sarcastic remarks.
Prophets were not kind souls with fortune cookie manners of speaking. They were considered "Jerks" with biting, cutting remarks for people. (There's a reason most prophets were martyred)
If you understand the customs and anthropology....it's a lot richer of stories being told.
