Seoulsearch, meet me at the border. But you won't need a passport or ID to get across our borders, just bring the Canadian security guards a box of Tim Horton's assorted tim-bits, while singing "O Canada", and for good measure give them each a toonie (that is $2 in American language) and they'll let you pass.
I'd better start a Go Fund Me campaign and hustle myself to the border... before The Trump gets elected and suddenly there's a "UUUUUGGGGGGEEEE" wall standing between me and my newest Maple Leaf Crush.

Seoulsearch, just don't mention the "Maple Leafs" when you are here, we Torontonians are ashamed of them right now because of how bad they've played that last few years, and we are considering changing the team name to the "Toronto Maple Griefs"

One time my Mom and I took a day trip to Niagara Falls. This was before you needed a passport to cross from the American border. My Mom was always paranoid about crossing, she's from Sweden so she was always afraid that they'd detain her for some reason. My Mom and her family moved to the USA when she was ten. She doesn't have a Swedish accent and she doesn't walk around with a t shirt on that say's, I'm Swedish please detain me. She's also a naturalized US citizen. So I don't understand why she felt that way but she did. On the way out of Canada at the American border the guard asked if we had anything? To claim. The only thing we bought over there was a small bag of Lays potato chips. My Mother holds up the bag and says, well we have these chips. The Guard said, okay enjoy them, have a good day. After that I looked at my Mom and said, chips Mom. She got mad at me for my so called attitude, but seriously potato chips???

Fenner, chips are a universal food that can take care of all problems in all tense situations, especially if they are made from Prince Edward Island potatoes!!!

You gotta love those spuds!!!

I did not know that. I'm surprised they didn't make us pay a fee to bring those chips into America.

As long as canadians don't start sneaking over here, not speaking a word of english, working for cash under the table and not paying taxes while enjoying free healthcare courtesy of our tax money, drivers licenses and free education.. there will be no wall. :p

Even is a wall is put up, our Canadian military will use our cannons to shoot down that wall - it may take a while (especially since we'll take breaks to watch "Ann of Green Gables" on CBC), but by-golly we'll do it.

Now, we just need to go around to all the bowling alleys and steal the bowling balls to shoot them out of the cannons, because lets get real, no one makes cannon balls anymore!!!

I'm almost through season 2 of Corner Gas. Just sayin'

I get a kick out of the dry humor. I don't find much stuff to be funny, but this show is a hoot.

The true Canadian spirit lies in being too shy to speak up. We are proud to be Canadian but lets not be noisy about it, it might offend someone.
*Politely holds door open at Timmy's for several years while everyone shuffles in apologizing*

Lol, at your post.

The Canadian's I've met are very polite. One time my Husband I went up to Niagara Falls, we'd never been in a casino before, so we went to the casino to check it out. The man at the door looked at me and said, Eh Miss you have to be 18 to enter, but your friend here (my Husband) can go in. I said, I'm 30 year's old. Then he said, well I don't believe that, do you have ID. I gave it to him and he said, I wouldn't of believed it if you didn't show me your license, eh, I'm sorry. I said, sir, it's okay, I'm flattered, you're my new favorite person on earth now. He chuckled and said, oh thanks eh, he then looked at my Husband and said, I thought you were shacking up with some old man here, laugh laugh. My Husband didn't laugh, he looks young, he was only 32 at the time.

I wish I could post imbedded videos from my phone. Trust me on this and look up the song, or even just the lyrics for Forgive Us, We're Canadian by the Arrogant Worms. It's a pretty accurate summary of us as a people.

You are an absolute gem sir!

Also as a fan of both the song and this anime I'm curious as to how someone saw the two of them going together.

I don't know if you've seen How I Met your mother, but the character Barney hated Canada for some reason and would as say nasty things about it to his Canadian friend Robin. This is the scene where Robin says she found out on Facebook that Barney's Grandma was Canadian and he's a quarter Canadian. It was one of my favorite scenes.

Yes Grace, you can come over to Canada to watch Ann of Green Gables with us, but only under three conditions:

1. When you take your seat to sit down and watch Ann of Green Gables, be careful not to kick over anyone's can of Molson Canadian beer! There is nothing a Canadian hates more than watching Ann of Green Gables without a slight buzz (for some of us, that is the "only" way we can watch it).

2. You leave your American accent in the States, because we Canadians don't like weird accents, words and phrases, eh? (wait, did I just make a statement or ask a question? Even I get confused when using "eh" in a sentence sometimes!!!)

3. And most importantly "DO NOT" allow Justin Bieber to sneak back across to Canada hiding in one of your duffle bags. We had to trade Bieber to you guys in the U.S. for basic cable, electricity and running water, and after the deal we called "No Trade Backs"
