Rev. 14:4 KJV
a) "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins.
.....c) These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.
b) These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
The King James Version allows for more of the metaphors, whereas the version used on this site is more literal.
a) Women do not defile men. Men defile themselves by their thoughts and actions. To say that the 144,000 are "not defiled with women" means that they are not defiled by their thoughts and actions concerning women. Thus, they are virgins, being clean in thought and action. This does not mean that they are not married. Since to be married does not defile a man.
b) The 144,000 are redeemed in the tribulation as the first fruits of the harvest. Think of the rapture as the saints leaving the earth for New Jerusalem. The first fruits are not taken to New Jerusalem but are sequestered somewhere on the planet (Rev. 12:6). That is, Verse 14:4 is not talking about the rapture proper, but an event early in the tribulation where the 144,000 are taken.
c) These 144,000 follow the Lamb and are metaphorically called the kings of the earth here in the Book of Revelation. (Rev. 17:14)
