A very good summary. However, the word "frailty" is too weak. I would substitute "rebellion." As a teaching and preaching tool, it needs to be more memorable, though.

Who says that believers will live on the new earth? That is totally false. The eternal home of the saints is in the New Jerusalem, which will definitely not be on earth. It will remain a heavenly body.

who is watching Him make a creature with freedom to sin then give His own life in mercy and love to redeem that creature from his mistakes?

what is God demonstrating, and to who? and why?

it's not all about us.

Why, then, does Jesus give John the vision of the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven to the new earth (Revelation 21 and 22)?

To call an interpretation of the Bible "totally false" needs to have biblical support. Do you have any? By the way, the idea of the soul flitting away from our corrupt bodies, never to return to them is Greek in origin, not biblical. Our bodies will be resurrected and perfected.

To live where? On earth? Evidently you know very little about this but want biblical support. The eternal home of the saints is the New Jerusalem. It is presently occupied by the saints and they will continue to live there after the Resurrection/Rapture. The Bible says that "our citizenship is in Heaven". That should suffice. And that is why our "vile bodies" will be changed into the likeness of His glorious body. Will Christ be in the New Jerusalem eternally? Search it out for yourself. And did He say "that where I am ye may be also"? Check it out for yourself.

No, because we can't obey the commandments of God perfectly the way he wants us to. Jesus is our Substitute in live, death, and resurrection power to be able to fight Satan and make spiritual progress in obeying him. Always remember the Bible is God's history, the climax of which is Jesus.

I think that we will live in our resurrected bodies in the new universe (Revelation 21:1) to which the new Jerusalem descends in the rest of the chapter.
