I love western Texas. I'm scratchin my head over hearing about an islamic town being built from the ground up in the 2nd largest state, and it's unfortunate that the big cities are full of leftist retards.

Well, when they get tired from that, there’s always Texas.

Well I went to Texas one time, as I was having a vacation and looking at some property down in Lampasas Texas. I learned really quick that I was not going to survive down there very long if I was to move there.

It wasn't the heat, it wasn't the bugs, it wasn't the humidity, it was the cost. The property I was looking at had about a 45° tilt and so obviously the house construction would be on pillars. I did check with a couple of places there and got a kind of a quote for them building a house.

I did not at that time nor could I afford $175,000 construction. Yeah this was around 2004. Of course thankfully I never got it because I learned later that was in an HOA, at the beginning of it. And from what I heard about hoa's, I was really glad that I never got the property.

Other than that it's a nice place, I really like the Rose garden out in Lampasas. I was surprised to see one.

I got nothing either.
Oh wait, I got something. Are you guys almost all Democrats there or smth?
What’s going on down there?

I can’t talk for nobody else, but I’m a disciple of a nice beach here in Galveston.

Did some military training in Texas in 1972. Remember it being very hot in the summer but the afternoon thunderstorms were refreshing. I have nothing to say about Texas. Maybe cuz it is a red state.

I was an a HOA in Clearwater, Fl. Each year the cost went up with more restrictions on what you can do to the property that you own. Live in Tennessee now. No HOA.

You think that's bad you ought to see Dearborn Michigan.
When I lived in a suburb of Detroit I took a tour at the Ford plant there. Don't know if it is still there though. Maybe Trump could relocate non-terrorist Palestinians there since the majority of the population is Muslim. Might be part of some kind of Middle East peace initiative. Charge the Middle East Arab countries a million bucks a head, with a $100,000 fee each year per head to offset infrastructure costs.

Surely you have something to say about Texas (something good, that is).😂

Well, for starters, the leadership in charge believe in law and order and support local, state, and federal law enforcement. Another plus is there is no state income tax, and, like Florida which I lived for 26 years, is open for business.

I would feel safe living there in most areas except perhaps the area on the border with Mexico. Putting up a wall is a good start, and Trump supports the ICE teams there policing the area.

You got a good governor too. Just like Florida.

Safe environment. Good schools. Low taxes. Good place to raise a family.

I'm not sure what's happening in Texas but how does Texas produce this guy?

The image that i have of Texas is from Sergio Leone movies where every baby is born with a pistol.
Not Beta O'Rourke.

People moving to other places from Texas run into laws that they don't understand. I remember this one guy who moved to California, one night he found a possum in his backyard. He intended to shoot it. His neighbor said, you can't shoot it! You have to call animal control. He sad, ma'am, I'm from texas. I AM animal control!

The great state of California wound up charging him $600 for shooting a possum in his own backyard.

This is why Texans should stay in Texas and not move to other states that have weird restrictions.

You could think about moving to Tennessee though. We live about the same, except we don't have to deal with near the heat you have to deal with.

Ironically, the only two times I've been in Texas, it was to meet people from CC.

We went shopping at Walmart for groceries, and the thing that struck me most was how... patriotic... Texas is.

Texas-shaped muffin pans! Texas-shaped cutting boards! Texas-shaped cheese graters!! Texas-shaped earrings!

Anything and everything you ever wanted -- and then some -- can be found in the shape of Texas. I was floored! I had never seen anything like it.

So if it's one thing I can say about Texas... I guess it's that Texas merchandises itself like no other state!!

Property taxes are pretty high. That's the reason Texas didn't make my final selection when I was looking for a state to move from from Alaska a few years ago.
Didn't know. I think that my property taxes are lower here in Tennessee than they were in Florida.

Not too sure about the cost of electricity either as it seems that the electric utilities in Texas are known to charge outrageous rates due to how the electricity is generated or purchased on an exchange. Perhaps it is not regulated in a way that protects the consumer.

On the plus side, I broke even on my Enron trade back in the day. Lost a small bundle on K-Mart though. My daughter warned me not to speculate on their stock, but I ignored her advice to my own detriment.

On the whole, if I were to move again, I would consider a red city in Texas. Not Austin though, as the peeps there are of the liberal blue variety.
