"These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full." - John 15:11
This has been a theme for me over the past several months. Each and every one of us are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, and God is a good Father to us. He created the universe according to a certain design, and when we walk in His design for us that is laid out in Scripture, we experience joy.
I've never been one to be that great about keeping up with a blog, but with the turn of the new year recently it had been on my heart to be more consistent in my daily devotions. Because I struggled so much to be consistent last year, I decided to focus on reading through the entire New Testament this year--a sustainable goal for sure. So everyday I plan to read one chapter out of the New Testament, pick out something that stood out to me in that chapter, and journal a little bit about it. As I have done that the past few days, I've had it impressed upon me to share my journalings here on a blog. I can't say that I'm a very skilled author, and my journalings likely will not be long, but my goal in doing this is so that it may bless and encourage anyone who might come across it. I saw someone recently remark that a blog is just another way for someone to bring attention to themselves, but my goal is that hearts would be pointed upward to Christ that your joy may be full. I hope that is the case
I've started the year in the book of Mark, so my first entry will come tomorrow beginning with Mark 1. Cheers!
