Don't get mad and try to rip off my arm
You tested the waters and made a misplace

Oh give me a home
where the buffalo Rome
and the deer and the antelope play
where seldom is heard
a discouraging word
and the plebian commoners stay.....

OP, your test was such a monologue
I'd be well within my rights to call you a thread hog
But I won't do that, cause that's mean and irrelevant
Cause the fact that this is out of place is quite evident

Ask a mod to move it; why would they refuse?
But please while you're here, do not blow a fuse
We like to give each other cookies and be nice
So stick with us and have a treat; that's my advice!

you calling us plebians or commoners will get you nowhere but banned..

Well, at least, you have an adaquate vocabulary ... but, again, give us your definition of poetry?

I've taught fist graders, not only to read, but to memorize poems;
..."Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out"...
is, indeed, poetry of sorts, but they could also explain to their classmates
the mechanics of simple rhyme, poetic meter, and aliteration,
after reciting assignments to their classmates
and said classmates were intelligent ... sufficiently educated ... to then ask good, applicable questions.

That you, apparently, think that poetry is only something that rhymes ... is revealing.
So then, am I going get banned, because you didn't attend my first grade classes,
simply because, apparently, you cant ask good, applicable questions?

Poems most certainly don't always have to rhyme
Because honestly, nobody has that kind of...schedule :p
But I think that between a Bible teaching and a poem
The differences, and many there are, we know 'em.

So tell me, Jesus lives ... where's the difficulty?
Does everything have to be chewed to pap, and packaged in small pretty packages ...
Does something, always, have to fit, your preconceived reality?

I'm posting here, because ...I happen to think, that scripture comes to us in a poetic, structural format ...
that God speaks to us on any number of different levels ...
I've been on the "debate" forum ... and I dont want or need to talk about UFO's and end of the world speculations,
I simply wanted to talk about ... share ... my great appreciation for the wonders of scriptures, those things
that hardly ever get mentioned in debate environments.

That you would turn your nose up at this, simply because it aint wha yu us to ...
Ummm ... did you even take a close look at what I'd offered?

If only dinner cooked itself, And groceries grew upon the shelf; If children did as they were told, And never had a cough or cold; And washed their hands, and wiped their boots, And never tore their Sunday suits, But always tidied up the floor, Nor once forgot to shut the door.

You're speaking in riddles.. With multiple posts at a time. Kinda hard to know what you're trying to say. Fittingly enough, you posted it in the poetry forum. Poetry... Riddles... Kinda close?

Alright, got it now ... ol's Smokey

When my prayers were poorly said,
Who tucked me in my widdle bed,
And spanked my butt til it was red.
Me Mudder!

Who took me from my warm warm spot,
And put me on that cold cold pot,
And made me p*e if I could or not.
Me Mudder!

You wrote us a novel. No disrespect sir,
but maybe next time you could stick to an excerpt?
You taught the first grade, with short spans of attention
Adults aren't much different. Just thought I'd mention.

No hard feelings, we don't want you upset.
We're just helping out; put your anger to rest.
No upturned noses here, no close-mindedness, no rejection
Just a tip to move your post, said with love and affection.

:)

Paulos, a slave of God, yet apostle of Yeshua Anointed,
according-to a trust of God's out-chosen [ones], and to a recognition of truth, the [truth]
according-to devoutness,

Paulos/ Paul {3972 N-NSM} a slave {1401 N-NSM} of God {2316 N-GSM} an apostle {0652 N-NSM} yet {1161 CONJ} of Yeshua/ of Jesus {2424 N-GSM} of Anointed/ of Christ {5547 N-GSM} according-to {2596 PREP} to a trust {4102 N-ASF} of out-chosen [ones] {1588 A-GPM} of God{2316 N-GSM} and {2532 CONJ} to a recognition {1922 N-ASF} of a truth {0225 N-GSF} of the [one] {3588 T-GSF} according-to {2596 PREP} to a devoutness {2150 N-ASF}

Couple additional explainations ...

1) whenever I am hestatently driven to add an English word to my lame translation,
I will, certainly, show this to you, the reader, by putting brackets around it ...

2) The Greek has various words for the definite article ("the"), but doesn't for the indefinite ("a");
however, it is my understanding that any singular noun has,
inherently included in it's make-up
the fact of an indefinite; that is when you see the above "
doulos" ... the noun - nominative, singular, mansculine "slave,"
I think it most valid to translate this as ..."a slave" (N-NSM) ... since the singular (indefinite) quality is inherient within
the word. Similarly with gemitive words, such as "theou" (N-GSM) ... noun - genitive, singular, masculine "of a God" ...
however, here, I've taken the liberty of not showing the reader the indefinite "a" since there is only One God, not an
indefinite number of gods, but the the point, here, is that the word is GENITIVE ... "OF"..."of God" ... that is, the genitive element "of" is inherent in this Greek word; therefore I show this to you, the reader, without the brackets ..."of God,"
as I do with the indefinite "a" in ..."a slave" ...

Lot's of little silly linguistic stuff ... but if we start out with some standards, it helps this to progress without subsequent confusion, and questions. Also, for purposes of consistency, only, I always read a dative word with the prefixed "unto-"
and an accusative word with the prefixed "to-" ... it aint always pretty, but a consistent method helps eventually in subsequently
determining wheather the attempted method was correct or not. That is, I may be incorrect in this, but that can only be
certainly
determined, if after we "float the boat" is sinks or not![/QUOTE]

I am a Blond and all the letters with = and R2 D2's are way over my short attention span... If you say it belongs in this thread then I wish you well and hope that people who get what you are trying to do find your Testing thread and enjoy it. It is clear to this Blond that this is not a Poems R Us thread.....so I will bid you a fond Plebian farewell and God Bless you in your walk with Jesus. I truly meant you no harm or angst. But for Blond this ship has sailed.

In a way we have acted out the book of Titus in our dialog......If you look at your section titles....Salutation - Lady Blue Greeting you to the Poetry Forum, then you had to deal with a few Contentious Cretans, when we were trying to be a Pattern of Good Works helping you find what we thought was the right forum not understanding you were in the Forum you wanted to be in.

Then The Grace of God was Emerged in that we were trying to be nice an helpful getting the book of Titus to the Bible Discussion Forum not understanding again you wanted to be here right where you are in Poetry.

Then came theSpeak, Rebuke, Exhort, and Remind us that you were where you wanted to be while we were trying to help you with The Kindness of God was Emerged but in reality being where you wanted to be you didn't need or want our help or kindness.

You then wanted to Exhort to Good Works for us to participate or have interest in your thread.

I don't blame you for (our) Their Discipline. Contentious Cretans - Condemned because we didn't really understand you wanted to be in this forum and now that I do understand you are happy were you are I give you the Benediction that I understand you want to be here...

So in a very round about way our dialog with extremely simple attempts at poetry enacted the points of Titus you were trying to get across..... I think even Blond gets it.

In hopes that you are in an o.k. place too..... Not everything has to be wrapped in a pretty package for me and this has been a fun learning experience I hope for you as well.
