Present them with God's perfect Holy law. show them how sinful they are before God, and how they can do nothing right without Him. then once they are completely broken with no hope and they see what they deserve is Hell. present them with the Gospel and show them what Christ did on the Cross. how he drank the cup of God's Almighty wrath and suffered infinate pain and misery to set the sinner free.

I don't agree completely. I have friends who are now christians, but the one thing that really turned them away from ever trying to get to know God was the fact that people kept "preashing" to them about how sinful they are and they deserve death and such, it just scared them away. It wasn't until someone listened to their problems and helped them, gained their trust and just kinda set Jesus out there as an option that they gave him a chance.

The Gospel is not a feel good message. thats a self help center. The first thing John the baptist says is Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. he even called people a brood of vipers. so we are to present people with the law to show them how sinful we are because thats what we are. sinful. Have you read Isaiah 53? The apostles did not listen to peoples problems they preached the gospel. you will lose friends for His name sake. that is how you tell them about Jesus.

I still disagree. People are not going to listen to someone who is holloring at them to repent. Where is the love that you are "supposed" to be showing in that. I realise that telling them about it is loving, but they don't see that. You need to see where they stand first.

And where they stand is never a good position. "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God"-Romans 3:23
No one is right before God and His Holy law is so perfect that it will stop us from Justifying ourselves. It shows us how sinful we are in the presence of a Holy God who punishes sin. So that is where the Whole earth stands before God. Evrery single person on this earth. Let me give you an example how it is loving. If i were to see a loved one driving towards a bottomless pit would I just sit there and say "oh no it's ok you can keep driving cause I love you" or would I scream "No!!" and try everything I can to show them they are going to die.

I've already said how in our eyes it is loving, but to someone who may not even believe in a God, you cant just start preaching at them about how their lives are a mess and they need to repent now or they will go to hell. Although that is the reality of it, you need to explain about God and the salvation you can get through him before you just start yammering on about how they are failures. This is what turns people away from the church in the first place.

ok so what you are saying is like going to a doctor and the doctor says. hey good news i have the cure for the disease you are going to die from. the person who went to the doctor is going to leave because presenting the cure without revealing the sickness is like what you are saying to do. what you are saying is to be lukewarm. and that is against the Gospel. my friend the Gospel is an offensive message. i have lost many friends preaching the Gospel of Jesus. "yammering on how they are failures" you are making it seem like it is a small deal to be unrepentant in the presence of a Holy God. I dont remember the apostles making sure they did not hurt someones feelings. I do remember paul though calling the Galatians foolish. and Stephen before he was stoned called the Jews uncircumcised which is a big insult to a jew. I am not saying be offensive to people. but i am saying to not be lukewarm and talk about God as if he were only love as many "christians" today say. He is a Holy God all those things like mercy love faithfullnes come from His Holiness. My friend I present to you. you have to preach about what state we are in the hands of God or else they will not understand salvation and God's love

I never once said that repenting is not important, nor will you ever here me say that. I am saying that you need to present to them the idea of God, and your beliefs around it. How are they going to repent if they don't believe?

well then to someone see what they beleive. see if they think they are going to heaven. then show them the law and how they can not go into heaven by their works and how they are but filthy rags before God. then tell them what Jesus did(if they know who he is if not then tell them who he is and what he did) then tell them the only way to be saved is to cry out to God for mercy and to forsake their life and carry their own cross. that is how you preach to a unbeliever

Well your way of preaching to them is already changing now. All I'm saying is you can't be ragging on them about how much of a mess up they are if they know nothing about God. You have to give them some background information, I've grown up in the church, so I have known this stuff for ever, but someone who hasn't grown up in the chruch may not have a cluew about ANY of this.

my message is changing how so? i have there that they are sinful before a Holy God, they need to repent and trust in Jesus, and they need to forsake their life. I really don't see how it has changed. and what does it matter if you grew up in a church. the pharisees lived their whole life in their churches performing religious cerimonies and seemed like the holiest people and yet Jesus called them tombs because they were nice on the outside but full of skelletons on the inside.

Well at first you said to just tell them how bad they were, than you said to find out if they believe in Heaven. And it matters that I grew up in the church because what I'm saying is, if you were to minister to someone who grew up in the church or atleast had a religious background, they would already know about God. If they didn't have a religious background, than they might not have a clue. which is why step one would be explain the christian faith.

be nice. dont force things on them that they dont want. If they say they dont care, they dont care.
pushing things on them is wrong.
accept them for who they are, and if they dont want to change, they shouldnt have to.
i know you want to help them, but it is THEIR life.
I must say, that is a very cold statement.
Clearly yoyo wants her friends to be with her in Heaven.

How would you feel if you lost someone and you knew (or were wondering) that you would never, ever see them again?

Be realistic.

How do you tell your unsaved friends about Jesus or about coming to church? A new school year is about to start and I have a handful of friends that are not saved and i think should be and if they were it would make a HUGE difference in there lives. I find my christians buds and i struggle a lot with this. So what what would be the correct approach? In some of my attempts, a couple don't really reject but they act like they don't really need God and i do pray for God to unharden there hearts and God to open there eyes...but i dont know what to say anymore. I dont want to stop because God can use me to bring more people in the Kingdom of God. So i really need your help. What should i say, do ? please :)

Well, I'm too far past to save high school friends but I think leading a Christ-like life and given them biblical advice when they're in trouble would definitely help. I've seen others who badger friends to go to church with them only to turn them away for good. So, I guess it's different for everyone. Pray about it, maybe God will give you a much better answer!

I realise that your first post was like a while ago, but my best advice is ask them a question. Get them wondering. Don't just come out and go "Jesus is the world's savior. repent or you will go to hell!" Ask them questions about life. Ask them where they think they will go when they die? How do they know they'll go there? Talk to them about the beauty of the earth, where did it come from? Get them wondering, human nature is to be inquisitive, when confronted with these questions they will want answers. So when they ask you what you believe, that's your time. The other thing is, sometimes it isnt meant for you to see the fruit ripen, sometime planting the seed is all you are supposed to do. Plant the seed and pray about them. If God wants you there to see the harvest you'll be there.

I like that. Ill be sure to get them wondering & ill continue to pray. Thanks ;)

YES. I mos def want my Friends in heaven, but i dont want to force it down in their throat and push them away. I've seen that happened before.

Well firstly I try to keep as best a testimoney as possible. WE are both about the same age so I assume were probabley about the same year in school:)
I am unlike most of the girls in my year, I do not dye my hair, nor do I wear makeup nor have peirced ears, I am also a born again beliver in Christ.
My and two of my five brothers are the only born again belivers in our school. Many grls ask me why dont you have periced ear or why dont u dye ur hair? this for me is a God conversation starter: It says in the bible ' cast away your earings' or someting of those lines - it also says ' you should not braid your hair' braid meaning dyed- if you look it up in the dictionary.
After the conversation starts flowwing I beign on my approach of tellin the about God, and how he sent his only begotten son to die on the cross so we might be saved from an eternity in the lake of fire.
I begin with a story, my father, a wise man once told me.

A man and his son were walking one day, and they went down to the harbour to look at the boats. Upon there arrival to the harbour, they say a man, drowing, waves crashing over the top if his head, shouting despretly for help.
The man, quickly tells his son, Jump in there and save that man.
The boy jumps into the cold deep waters of the harbour, and swims against the current to get the drowning man. He manages to get a grip and swimms, with the man in his arms to the ladder on the harbour wall. The man grabs hold of the ladder and pulls himslef up. But just then a bog wave comes and the boy is washed away and drowns.
However the once drowning man, gets out of the harbour, reaches up onto the land, brushes the water of his clothes, and walks away, without even saying thank you to the father of the boy, who has just seen his son die.

The little boy represents Jesus, the father represents God and the drowng person represents the unbeliver.
God sent his son, and hardly anyone has accepted this and said thanks.

great advice!... will do! :)

btw you have my name (well thats how you pronounce it)..but mind is spelled differently :)

Thanks to EVERYONE that replied.
I have some great strategies on how to get more souls into the kingdom of God.
God Bless y'all!

Just thought I'd share my awesome experiance today. I have been praying that God would give me chances to share my faith and give me the courage and the boldness to share my faith with people. Today my friend just started talking to me and the conversation got led onto religions and such. I just felt the courage from God to share. So, I just started telling him about all I believed in and I was so open and he took it very well. So even if I don't see him grow in the Lord, I know the seed has been planted and I will try to keep sharing with him and others.
