What if you murder a non-Christian......would that not be wonderful? To show God your love by murdering one of His enemies?
Grow the bleep up. The law is the law. Stop with the hypotheticals.
Thank you Jesus for blessing me with the understanding to not mark my body in a way that is not pleasing to you Lord. I pray that those who lack the wisdom and are dull of understanding come to the truth of your Word, and know what the Spirit saith. Lord I also know that you look upon the heart of a person, and not the outside. And when a person sees your love and gets an understanding of your will through the power of the Holy Spirit, then the what is on the inside begins to be seen on the outside. Amen
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’Thank you Jesus for blessing me with the understanding to not mark my body in a way that is not pleasing to you Lord. 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

I know there are some Christians who believe being inked is alright, and I know there are some who think it's not good. Can I get some opinions? Cause I'm turning 18 this year and my cousin wants to get me a tattoo for my birthday, don't know if it's a good idea :/
I will sing praises to you oh Lord because you are good and worthy and the devil don't like it when your truth is declared! I know that many are offended at the truth but regardless Your Word remains strong! All glory be unto you my King!!
When I hear people asking about is tattoos right or wrong, yes or know. many people will quote straight away. this scripture.
Leviticus 19:28
You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.
But the thing is, we are not under law, we are under grace. I would say, its your choice. longs its not demonic and represents any form of evil, then maybe yes it is ok to have a tattoo.
i have both female and male friends who choose to go with tattoos--several of them are interesting and reflective of who they are and often their faith as well.
...I would probably get it somewhere where it can be hidden if needed, like for a job.
A faith based design is like a contradiction in itself

What about the next verse that mentions not trimming the corners of one's beard?
Do preachers shave?
Are New Testament believers really under the law in the sense that Old Testament Jews (with bushy beards) in the land were?
You're so original lol.
So what's next? Not taking Lev 18:22 and 20:13 anymore so you can shave?![]()
The old OT says stuff about not marking your bodies and stuff but first of all, they used marking their bodies for worshiping their Greek God's. it's also in the OT and Jesus came to set us free from it.
I want a tatoo, but make sure it's something that'll mean something to you.
Hello brother,
I must say that Christ did indeed fulfill the law, and set us free from having to keep the law. I do feel however that although we are not required to keep the law there are certain things that God said when He made the law that to this very day can be used as a benefit to the well being of our spirit, soul, and bodies. The bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change His mind concerning certain issues. The same God that said we shouldn't mark our bodies in anyway also said not to commit adultery. I will use that as an example. So if we say to ourselves that, well it really no longer matters what God said in the law, because none of that matters, then I guess really it's ok to commit adultery. You see, Israel was unable to keep the whole law, that is why Jesus fulfilled it. But at the same time there are things in the law we should take in account in our personal lives, because it is sound wisdom and is of a great benefit to us. Make sense?![]()
The difference being that in the New Testament there are plenty of comments against adultery; but where do we go in the New Testament to suggest that a faith based tattoo for witness purposes is so alien to be prohibited? Christians with faith based tattoos can hardly be called 'unclean'.
