Hmmm... Do you have any particular guy in mind that you are trying to talk to? If so, what do you know about him? From what you know about him, what questions can you ask to find out more about those aspects? That would be the place to start.

I never thought about the word's meaning - I mostly just mean if I am interested in a Man I can 100 not talk to them ever. I hide and I am scared to every talk to them so they don't know I exist. And probably think I am stuck up.
And this is why no man will flirt with you. Body language speaks way more than words. A man will "get a read" off your body language and if it comes across negative to them they'll move on.
Learning to be available and appear open and friendly is 90% of it. If a man looks at you and thinks you're stuck up or unfriendly and you compliment him in some way, that sends mixed signals, which is confusing.
So step one isn't learning to flirt, it's learning to not give body language that says "go away".

Oh, and you absolutely Will be rejected. Not because there's anything wrong with you but because everyone wants something different, and you won't fit everyone's tastes. So recognizing that should help.

I suck a lot at talking to men... or flirting in general.
If the survival of the human race depended on me flirting, well SO-LONG HUMAN RACE.

Help? :D

(perhaps this can be a fun thread for us to exchange some general ideas?

Are you talking about men or boy's. if you are a millennial, you better learn how to play video games like "fort night" or something like that...

I suck a lot at talking to women....or talking to people in general. So don't think you're the only one with these types of problems.
Then I am not alone. I mostly wish I could be a cat and just nap in the sun and push coffee cups off ppls tables and just stare "WHAT?" lol

I am no English 😅 I understood the word flirt/flirting as not appropriate if you do it not with your husband/wife 🤔

I don't call it flirting if the person is just being sweet, caring and friendly I call it flirting when you put an effort to look and sound seductive for the person you like to get his attention.

My advice,😅 Practice your beautiful smile and do it a lot "A charming smile can open doors and knock down barriers" You don't need to flirt with him to be noticed just give him your best smile and hi 😊
Many relationships and great conversations begin with a hi and a sincere charming smile maybe yours too 😊

There was no indication this was a joke thread. You did indicate in the first post it was for fun, to exchange ideas for how to talk to people... so people started giving ideas.

We been complaining about millenials so long it has become a habit. We need to get a new generation that really, really stinks, to jar us out of the groove... but then we would just make it a habit to complain about them instead.

No no one in particular. Just for future reference :D

For real! Cats don't realize how good they have it. Let a cat w*rk at a job for one day, THEN they'd see how well off they are.

I did not ask for psycoanalasys - that is for sure - lol it's weird weird weird how ppl get wound up on here and get so personally offensive. If you don't know me don't try to "fix" me. That is all I am asking. (Actually if you DO know me - don't try and FIX me). I think that's a dudes thing anyways.

Just stop complaining about generations. I mean I can rag on all the old folks too. (Speaking to all the boomers out there + out there) Don't think you aren't all annoying as well - But we don't do it because it isn't fruitful.
Our generations are different, and that has a lot to do with our environment. - I mean - I grew up in a time where i was able to play outside - but this upcoming generation can't anymore. Running across another's property and you can get shot (or kidnapped). When I was a kid nobody worried about that. The old people complain when kids play outside AND complain when they are inside minding their business. GIVE US A BREAK. Pus how can this Gen Z have any chance??? Have you seen what's on Nickelodeon nowadays? No nice cartoons at all anymore... :D

Yes - most dudes around here are not Christians sadly - and so that is also why I don't engage too much with men because I don't know their belief - and at my church there aren't any single men - or any men around my age. But I am trying to be prepared for when I do come across one such a rare breed. :D So I won't run and hide and such non-sense. Smile - compliment the clothes or perhaps make a comment about the service.

IDK... Most likely I am just going to get a new job that I have wanted for a long time and throw myself into that, and hopefully there will be a like minded person there. ( i did get asked out by a co-worker who was like 12 years younger than me and turned out to be an atheist... and THEN it was like "let's be friends" .... "Friends that never ever talk ever again". SO that was stupid lol

Also if I do meet a person like that I'll let you know for specific advice ;)

ESPECIALLY in the service/hospitality business... I actually saw this weird video that was in a funny way depicting how humans would be if they acted like cats.... Let me see if I can find it... creepy if humans did it - lol

Also now that I think of it this is a good laugh If humans acted like fainting goats

There are so many different angles to answer this question...as you have witnessed. Psycho analysis, can’t be unavoided to be helpful. What kind of guys do you want to talk to? If you are looking for a strong confident man, you don’t engage him verbally. You bait him to talk to you. It’s about looking sexy, not slutty. Then glance but not stare. Smiling is always an asset. Dudes want to meet girls to have fun with, not be burdened by years of emotional luggage. Sure that’s expected once you get to really know somebody but you can’t wear it around like a sign: Damaged. Then any confident man who is interested will approach you. If you want to meet some shy guy who is less macho then by all means buy him a coffee, or sit down at his table and ask if the seat is taken. This approach requires more confidence on your part. Be in control and lead the conversation. Ask him all kinds of questions like he’s the most interesting person in the world. People like people who make them feel good about themselves. So, make him feel intriguing. This will give him the green light and confidence to ask to meet you again. If you lack the desire to be the lure or the instigator then find a class you want to take involving groups, like church groups or an art or cooking class that attracts men and women. Then your initial icebreaker will be something relatable. Then you can compliment his painting or dish or ask for his take on the content. Also when groups are involved it gives you the chance to smile and give subtleties in his direction.

Every species has courtship rituals designed by God. Clearly the fall of man has circumvented the original style of the alpha male being awarded the mating rights. Modern day media has done its share of manipulating the expectations of the opposite sex. In the end our intelligence just complicates and restructures the God intended couplehood. Yet still the basics of hormones and pheromones still are the loudest voice we hear when seeking a mate.

Well, I never knew how to flirt before knowing if a guy liked me.

maybe using a pick up line can help. “Are you a 90° angle? Cuz you be looking right!“
