Talking About Jesus Too Much?

Is there such a thing as talking about Jesus too much?

Do you think there is such a thing as talking about Jesus too much?
Do you think EVERYTHING should be about him?
Or is he more like a tradition and people that talk about Him too much just get on your nerves?

Just curious on what you guys think...
 
I imagine i'll take some flak, but i think you can. Some people think everything constantly has to be about Jesus, the problem is, thats forced. They're doing it out of a perceived necessity rather than being genuine. As if you're somehow a more spiritual person because of it. Often time these people are difficult to talk to, and sound more like brainwashed drones hashing out bible scriptures at every turn, regardless of if it even applies. I don't want to talk to someone who talks about Jesus all the time. God made this world we live in. He made it for us to enjoy. While Jesus should undoubtedly be the central focus and the main priority, we should also feel free to enjoy other aspects of Gods creation as well.

You have to follow the prompt of the Holy Spirit. Only then will you know what to say to people. Within yourself, you know everything is about Jesus because he is your saviour and you could do nothing without him but for people who do not have that relationship, it would be overwhelming and maybe even annoying. Sometimes people say things that contradict my beliefs but even though I would love to make them understand the truth, it just can not work like that so I end up saying a little and leaving it alone.

It also depends who you are speaking with, people who are strangers or people who know you are a Christian and Jesus is the basis of your life.

when you realize GOD had given you all our gifts family and freinds and how pericious there to never loose them .but GOD is the only one who love even more than them . no one else has given us eternety . and a love to the extreme. example who has pass the test of love for some one . if some one ( kiddnap my Mom or Neice Dad Brother Sister or who ever.but GOD love ever one) and there price of ransom is to the no greater value. would I sell everything i Owned? and then give up my own life to have them back in the afterlife. we have all fail this test many times. but get another chance because jesus has pass this test of ransom and was punished so we can have another chance to love GOD in the ranson that he love us. we;ve all failed

We do not seek the glory of man but rather the glory of God.. To love our neighbor, truly, is to share the truth,, it is to share Jesus. And think it not strange to get rejection, Your reward is in heaven not here :)

Yeah, I agree with this.

There is a guy I know who was delivered out of some serious darkness, right on the edge of suicide. He's so thankful to God for saving his life he just can't stop talking about Him! That's seriously a wonderful thing, but he says 'Lord Jesus' like 2 thousand times a day. I don't doubt his sincerity one bit, but it looks almost like OCD at times. Like if he doesn't thank Jesus for every single step he takes, as he is taking it, something awful will happen. There's a hint of fear.

Then there are people like NBA player Metta World Peace, who thank Jesus Christ for taking his baby teeth when he was a baby so he wouldn't look weird in photo shoots. Why drag Jesus into that insanity?
 
If you have someone in mind relating to this "talk about Jesus all the time" please let me be their friend, someone who is totally focussed on Jesus is someone I want to hang around......because we would have so much in common!....lol
 
To be honest, We can never talk about Jesus enough.... He died on a cross come on..... you know what I mean.... but yes there is also i fine line between forcing it down someones throat..... What a person needs to do is say enough to peek someone's interest so they start askign questions if they dont get an interest thats fine you can still thank and Glorify Jesus in conversations without seeming well pushy with it..... I find that singing church music a lot and giving Godly advice when someone needs advice and then overall just being like "JEEESSSUUSSS!" isn't very pushy and it effective to other people around you.....

I didn't think there was such a thing as talking too much about Jesus... But after thinking about it and reading your replies I see that you have to know when to speak about Him. You can't just make every little thing about Him. Because if you do, people that don't know Him like you do, won't understand it and you will probably only annoy them....
 
When you fall so truly and deeply in love with Him and he reveals who he truly is to you and just how vastly big his love is and when he gives to you a set of spiritual eyes that allows you to see so many of his amazing blessings all around you as he turns your world into a Easter Egg Hunt seeking those blessings....you want, need, have to shout out to the world the wonders that you behold. I think that is when he reveals his beautiful glory and grace and love into your life in a way that will forever change the way you exist from that moment on....you want to shout out to the world what has happened to you.
But you also learn the difference from as what Ugly put (sound more like brainwashed drones hashing out bible scriptures at every turn) which is you talking without the Holy Spirit which usually fills you with emptiness then when the Holy Spirit takes over and uses your mouth, hands, and feet for Gods glory. I am used often to be a mouth piece for God. Just last night I was feeling crappy about myself and I whispered up to God, are you there when at work the phone rang at 3 am in the morning ( work 3rds ) with a man telling me thank you for words spoken by me to him that really brought him close to God and what God's will for his life. He had come into my place of employment when I stopped and inquired about his day as he was shopping because I could tell he had a very heavy spirit. He talked about buying a gun to shoot his boss for owing him money and how he was discouraged that every time someone hired him to do handy man work they only ever paid him half of what was owed to him. I cant remember exactly what I said but it wasn't me. It was the Holy Spirit using you when you are his child to bring peace and goodness and help to others and to show them the way. I say go with what is on your heart and don't let the devil pull you away from God by putting the doubt in your mind. If Jesus is on your mind maybe he is wanting you to direct your conversation to him. Be proud that you Love our Lord. He is our everything. He is our every answer. Never let the devil make you feel ashamed. And trust me if you feel that you are not a lone. It is total BS honestly. But it is a reality. Just love God with all of your heart and soul and mind and he will direct your steps.
 
No such thing. As long as you present Jesus in an accurate manner historically and otherwise.

For some people, I think they do it so often that it actually turns into taking His name in vain. They aren't really thinking about what they're saying.

@Ugly.I'm surprised that you would think people here will give you a hard time for your post.I haven't been on here that long,but most of the people on here that identify themselves as Born Again Christians,in my opinion their comments on certain topics aren't that far off from the world.Which for me that's a little strange. I thought as Born Again Christians we are suppose to be different from the world.The world is in the dark and Born Again Christians are a new creation in Jesus Christ.Thus making us the light.Back to the topic.In my opinion anyone who say that they are Born Again/saved,then of course almost everything they talk about will in some way relate back to Jesus.I don't agree with your comment,when you say people who do that are forcing it.There are probably some people who identify as being a Christian,and quote from the Bible,but that doesn't mean that they are really sincere Born Again Christians,they could be doing all of that for show.The word of God(Bible)tells us that we will know them by their fruit.The people who are really saved/filled with the Holy Ghost,they will live their life for Jesus.And when I said as BornAgain Christians,were suppose to talk about Jesus,I don't mean that every word that comes out of our mouth should be quotes from the Bible.I mean in some way the things that we talk about will relate back to Jesus.How can it not if we are filled with the Holy Spirit?
