2 But for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its ( rays )wings. You shall go forth leaping like calves from the stall.
What was the lord teaching here?
He’s talking about the destruction of Jerusalem for sin but that Christ the light of the world would rise up with healing in his wings for those who remembered and feared the lord
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and
the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”
Malachi 4:1-2 KJV
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Malachi 4:5-6
at he reading actually begins in Malachi 3 prophetically telling if the gospel when John the Baptist would come just before the messiah
“
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me read mark chapter one ) and
the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for
he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:”
Malachi 3:1-2 KJV
he then continues on to here
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and
the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”
Malachi 4:1-2 KJV
Hes telling of Jerusalems destruction but also the deliverance of Israel’s bekieving remnant through Christ
And ends with the promise of John the Baptist ( Elijah ) oreceding christ who would rise up with healing for the people
