Good evening my beloved brothers and sisters, I just created an account on this website due to some questions that have intrigued me. The main one at the moment is about salvation.

Here we go, the bible makes it clear that we can only be saved through Jesus Christ. I was recently discussing with a friend and he replied to that questionating: “So will people that have never heard about Jesus go to hell?” - My answer was “no” because God is just then he replied saying “So if some people can be saved without having faith in Jesus, how come Jesus is needed? Wouldnt it be better if everyone was judged by their actions not by their faith in Jesus?” - those were his words and to be frank, I didnt know how to answer properly.

IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME WITH SOME EXPLANATIONS, I’d be very flattered!

Jesus said...I am the way I am the truth I am the life...No man comes to the father except through me.

Jesus is the only way my friend....he and he alone.
If God can create heaven and Earth then surely everyone shall be given a choice to except or deny.

“So will people that have never heard about Jesus go to hell?” - My answer was “no” because God is just...
That question was meant to deflect the real issue, which was probably his or her own salvation. Just to put you off track and on the defensive.

When you come right down to it, that question is really a "straw man" (a fake question)

Over the last two thousand plus years (and particularly with the advent of the Internet) there is really no one who has not heard about Jesus. Missionaries have been traveling all over the world ever since the apostles, churches have been established all over the world, Bibles and Gospel literature have been distributed all over the world, and in almost every human language. People have definitely heard about Christ, Christians, and Christianity. Whether or not they have obeyed the Gospel and responded to it is another matter.

AND NO ONE CAN BE SAVED UNLESS THEY OBEY THE GOSPEL -- REPENTANCE TOWARD GOD AND FAITH TOWARD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 20:21).

Problem is, many people seem to think God, because He is love, somehow "owes" everyone salvation.

He doesn't.

God is also Holy - and He's not going to save anyone at the expense of His holiness. That's why Jesus came. Only He could satisfy God's righteousness and justice to make a way for wretched sinners to be saved.

Even so, the Bible says the road to destruction is broad - and many will find it.

Good question – I’d like to know as well. How is a person to be judged by God if that person;
  • has never heard of Christ ?
  • or only heard of Him in passing but has not had anyone witness to him.
These people have not had the choice to 'reject' Christ....

Hi Sarahmelo1997, first off, welcome to CChat :)

The Bible tells us that those who do not believe in Jesus will be judged on the basis of 1. what they know and understand of the law (even if the only law they know/possess is the one that God wrote on their hearts from birth), and 2. what they did with that knowledge (of the law/of right and wrong) during their lifetime.

Romans 2
12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
14 Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law,
15 since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.
16 This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Believers/saints will 'not' be judged and condemned at the Great White Throne along with the reprobate .. John 3:18, 5:24.

~Deut
p.s. - the Apostle Peter, when he spoke to the elders and the rulers of the people, said this to them concerning Jesus and salvation:

Acts 4
12 There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.

Paul writes that many pagans have the truth written on their hearts with their own conscien es accusing or excusing them as they act.

It is alsowritten not to judge by appearances but with right judgment.

Elsewhere God says He will choose what is not to bring down that which is, and much more. Our Father is Love and not a trickster or hateful.

Some here mention the Gentiles having God’s law written on their heart – is breaking one law going to doom them as with the Jewish law?

We are to promote/defend the gospel in season and out and have a ready reply. This is a basic question that is asked of Christians often I believe.

Can somebody tell me in a few simple concise sentences what our reply should be to someone who asks what will become of say a good decent person in the Amazon who has never heard of Christ?

The only manner to know is to go to the Amazon and share the gospel with them.

Clasrity and precision would be learning from Jesus, Himself. He will give you rest.

Maybe when someone asks you a question and you don't know the answer, just say "I don't know" and leave it there.
And devote your efforts to keeping your eyes on Jesus through the work of belief (John 6:29), morning noon and night.
Do the things that you find increase your faith.

People can not be saved without accepting Jesus Christ as their savior......
Because of the sinful nature of man we are born into no man can be justified under the law. The law convicteth man because it is impossible not to sin by impure thought in violation of the law.........
Therefore Christ by Grace and Mercy paid the ultimate sacrifice for the sin of the whole world.
A person must accept Christ to receive the free gift of Grace and forgiveness.
It is possible that those who may not have had adequate exposure and or opportunity may be afforded it under the Millenium reign of Christ....I am not saying I know this as an absolute fact.
Sadly.....there are Evil governments and religions in the world where there exists no freedom of religion.
Saudi Arabia is an extreme example try and take the bible or Christian ministry there or into Mecca and you will lose your head Christianity is illegal there !
Why the United States is an ally to them is a blasphemy!!!!....Oil and $.

Sarah....absolute truth.....only those that exercise saving faith in the one and only correct gospel message will be saved and make the Kingdom of God.....a few points to ponder....

a. Day unto day and night unto night sets for knowledge and there is no language beyond the ability to SEE the proof in the pudding

b. Even the INVISIBLE TESTIFIES so that man is without excuse

c. Christ paid the sin debt for the whole world but the blood is only applied by faith

d. God would have all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth

e. Many are called, but few chosen...Note...NOT ALL ARE CALLED

f. God is fair and just.....David's week old son died and David said he would see him again and David speaks of salvation in the present tense....my view...Children are safe under the blood until they reach a particular age or a point where they can reason

Salvation is open to all, but only those called and those that believe....note...God knows who will and who will.not believe and calls accordingly.....

Die without Christ = hell to pay

Before i answer this question , there are preceding question that need to be answered :

Why should He come to us 2,000 years ago ?, could He come to us thousands of years earlier so there surely more people heard about Him ? ( in Moses age ?, Abraham’s age ? ).

He came to us is a necessity , in order to lead us/His people realize that “ the salvation is by God’s Grace alone” because around 1,500 years God had given us period of time to verify our selves about our state of vanity (Rom8:20) , and no one realized about it, humans still pride that they surely can fulfill the Torah laws / hundreds of laws , proven in His time humans still : sacrifice , circumcision , fasting ,Sabbath etc .

Let’s see Which one the easier to be fulfilled : not eat the fruit of the tree of life in Eden intentionally , or fulfilling the hundreds of Torah laws ? , if mankind were driven out of Eden just for prevent them from eat the fruit of the tree of life intentionally, didn’t it the very strong proof that mankind without exception surely ate the fruit if they were let to be there in Eden ? , Why did they still believe that they surely could fulfill the laws/salvation by works ( though the law had been added by the time until 613 laws ) , so mankind really really vanities creatures (Rom8:20) in this earth , that need to be opened their eyes by force ------> that why He came to us 2,000 years ago ( demonstrating God’s Grace ).

Are Humans in this earth equal in God’s eyes ?, why should there be the chosen and worldly people , Abel and Cain , Jacob and Essau , Noah families and people beyond the ark , born of flesh and born of God , that the scriptures distinct them plainly ( Exo11:5-7 , Exo33:16 ,John17 :14 , Rom9:21 ) , if so why Ecc3:19 says like that , How can this world end? , what are the reasons God set the devils free from abyss ? for deceiving those such sand of the sea ?.

If actually mankind consist of two kinds of humans in God’s eyes , who are they ?.

His people / the chosens ( God have been sending them to abide in to the babies for sojourning in this world 1Pet1:17 ) Zec12:1 , Jer1:5 /names those had been written before the creation of the world in His Book of life / Vessels of mercy abode in to the vessels unto honor (Rom9:23 , Rom9:21 ).

Every one that God sent to sojourn to this earth for growth /His people/ the chosen surely will be processed through purification process ( 40 years in the desert not literal) and the result will be winner or loser ( the answer of the op , no one will be left John17:7 ; 9 ).

Born of flesh people/dust (Gen3:14)/ equal to animals Ecc3:19 God did not place human’s spirit when they were born e g ; Essau , Cain / vessels unto dishonor Rom9:21 .

The devils are possible to abide into them one day ------> the children of the wicked one Mat13:38-39 , John8:44 , Mat23:33 ,Luk11:24-26 , the devil possessed the born of flesh people , possessed those such sand of the sea in the last day judgment = the devils possessed all the men out side the ark in Noah age.

1st off brother Scripture tells us in several places, including Jesus Himself, that NO ONE is good. Here is just one:

Romans 3:10-12 New King James Version (NKJV)
10 As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”

I would tell the person but YOU HAVE heard. So what is YOUR response to now hearing?

On the question of natives that have never heard, I believe, like others have said, that Romans 1 answers that question, but I would add that NO ONE is getting saved outside of the Blood of Christ. Some, will not have their sin imputed to them. Again, refer to Romans 1.
Jesus' Sacrifice will cover those people, as well as those under the age of accountability and I also believe the mentally deficient.

If we are judged by a Perfect God.. And let me assure you God is Perfect.. And we are judged on our imperfect actions then you can be assured that ever human being would be cast into the eternal lake of fire... No human who ever sinned would be acceptable to a Perfect God... The pass mark for a Perfect God is Perfection..

Therefore we have the Atonement of Jesus to justly forgive all our transgressions against the will of God so that our imperfection are wiped clean and we shall be judged as worthy to have eternal life in Gods perfect eternal existence..

No one who rejects the gift of the Atonement of Jesus shall have eternal life with God.. So the Atonement of Jesus is definitely needed for a person to have eternal life with God...

Now for those who have never heard of Jesus,, Have they rejected the Atonement of the Jesus?? No..

So will there be an option for them to hear the preaching of the Gospel so as to make their own response to it??

I believe they will..

1 Peter 3: KJV
18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: {19} By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; {20} Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
