I’ve heard there are programs to block sites. Also, I would recommend having an accountability partner - a person you can be honest with and can talk to when you’re struggling.

I'm trying to figure out if you are doing an Andy Kaufman style joke or if you are seriously believing he really has a problem with corn.
Also if you aren't too technically clever and someone you know is good with tech, you can probably ask them to get into your router and use router side parental controls to block / filter problematic content. Most modern routers have this feature.

I think with any sin addiction it comes down to this: You have to love God more than it.
I can't tell you exactly what that may look like in your life, but it's something to ponder. It will certainly involve a lot of prayer and staying in His word.

From what I have observed, people don't change until they have a reason to. An alcoholic never willingly gives up alcohol when he thinks it is working for him and it's not getting in the way of anything else he cares about.

I watched my senior pastor for my entire life. Well, up until last October when he died. He never got into any of the stuff that a lot of people have trouble with, drinking, drugs, smoking, porn, any of that stuff. It would have gotten in the way of the things he thought were important in his life. It's not that he was objectively a better person than anyone else. He just didn't want those things messing up his plans.

Hey T. It looks like you haven't logged on for a few days, but maybe you're still reading here. Just in case, I wanted to share a link to a very long writing someone made on another site. I am not promoting that site, but I think this lengthy read is worth it. Plus, it's time spent doing something that could be beneficial. I don't know the person who wrote it, I just came across it myself a few minutes ago. I will say he put a lot of time into it. I thought of this post here from you, so that's why I'm sharing it. I'd suggest anyone struggling with any sin -- which is all of us isn't it ? -- at least give it a read.

I write as someone who struggled with same problem for over 20 years, but been free for the four years.
It’s important to get the right advice as it will be the difference between success and failure.
Often well meaning peopl, can give advice which doesn’t get to the heart of the problem.
It’s not as simple as the person just stop looking at it , or pray your way out of temptation. I’m sure you’ve tried that countless times know that doesn’t work. Yes you should stop, you should pray, you should read gods word but this alone won’t help.
The reason is because you are struggling with an addiction. Pornography is as highly addictive as any substance drug but because it is free and unlimited, its effects are even more devastating.
The good news is that pornography addiction ,as with all other types of addictions share similar characteristics and so treatment.
I highly recommend a book by Russell Brand called Freedom from our addictions. He takes you through the 12 step program and his lived experience insight is invaluable.
I would recommend also looking at the good life model and Maslow loves hierarchy of needs.
The addictive behaviour is often a symptom of a deeper problem, which you haven’t addressed. you will probably find reading those two things will identify areas in your life, which are lacking. if you fix these areas, it will help to make you more resilient.
For me I know that the behaviour was fuelled by loneliness and need for connection and intimacy. Intimacy of an emotional nature as much if not more than sexual. I was replacing real intimacy , with an artificial , which put a plaster over the problem .

It's important to focus on motivations like this when we struggle with addictions; if the reason WHY we want to stop isn't greater than the temptation to fall back in again, we will get nowhere.
While I think it's great that you want a good relationship with someone one day, I would suggest first focusing on building the relationship you have with God today. Not only will this set you up to be able to have those good relationships that you want later on, but as we draw closer to God, we naturally start to fall away from sin. This is not to say that it will be easy because it won't be, but God gives us the strength to be able to get through anything.
There are some things I do that, though simple, can really help when I am tempted. First, I remove myself from the environment (put my phone down, leave the room, etc). This helps me just get away because it's much easier to fall into the sin when it's right there. Additionally, moving away also means you have to make a conscious effort to go back, which gives you time to think if that's what you really want to be doing.
After I have done that, I pray. I ask God for strength to resist the temptation, but mainly, I just talk to him and remind myself that he is always there for me to help get me through anything. I find that, as I do these two things, the desire to sin starts to fall away because I am reminded why I am trying to resist the temptation in the first place.

thanks! i will keep all that in mind. I didn't use to struggle with this as much but stress has caused me to rely on poor methods of coping. its pretty disappointing, actually.
