So...a Facebook friend shared a video of a teenage girl walking into her house, talking on her phone. The video was being taken by this girl's dad. The girl had been getting poor grades at school, so her dad took away her iPhone and presented her with a track phone that had no camera and couldn't do anything but make/receive phone calls from to/from her parents. When the girl realized her dad was serious, she fainted.
My problem with this...first of all, the dad was cussing at his kid. Personally, I use some questionable language myself at times, but I can't imagine dropping the F bomb AT my child.
But more than that, what bothers me is...why on earth would a parent do that to their kid?! I don't mean the discipline part, taking away privileges when the kid is slacking or whatever. I mean, the whole video thing, of punishing their child. Why film it? Why post it online for the world to see? Public humiliation happens all on its own in life Without that kind of assistance. And humiliating a teenager...as their PARENT...sharing their worst moments with total strangers, and laughing about it...
Man. All I can say is, thank God these videos weren't a thing when I was a teenager...and thank God my mother would never have done such a thing to me even if she could have.
Kids are going to misbehave and get bad grades and act spoiled sometimes (and more so if that's how their parents allow them to be). There's nothing funny about that. But it's not the kids in these videos I feel disgusted by- it's the adults who are supposed to love and protect these kids but instead are shaming them and exploiting them just to get a few laughs, a few "likes" online. It isn't funny, and it's not teaching the kids to do better.

I completely agree with you. Although I do think a lot of kids, especially here in America, need way more discipline than what they are getting.
But I think these parents are doing it for themselves. I think they're looking for their own 15 minutes of fame. I pretty much hate this culture of sharing everything with everyone. Like some people post their meals or what they bought that day, "hey guess what, no one cares!" LOL I think it's just a culture where people are constantly craving attention even from strangers. I have to wonder, if this a pride issue? Or a vanity one? I think it's a little of both.
I'm not saying social networking is bad, I personally have a facebook page, but that is it. I know some people share things like wedding photos or Christmas party pictures (which is totally cool) but to post that you just bought a coffee at Starbucks is a little too much for me.
Anyways, parents need to be more careful. I have such a wonderful mother and I know that she loves me very much and would never do anything to hurt me. Apart from Christ, she's my biggest blessing. Whenever I need anything, I know she is there for me. I cannot imagine having a parent or parents that would humiliate me in such ways as that girl you mentioned.
Parents are supposed to be trusted and yes, disciplinarians. But I think they should discipline in loving and mature ways. Posting a video about punishing your child, is very immature to me. Let the kids be the kids.
Also, I think spanking children is okay. As long as it's not too heavy. As someone who was spanked as a child and one who was humiliated at school by my peers I can tell you, words hurt so much more.

Kids absolutely need more discipline, and way fewer iPhones 
I don't have any issue with people over-sharing about unimportant stuff, like their dinner or whatever...sometimes it's interesting to me just to get an idea of what their life is like through minor details. Also...while I don't often post photos to Facebook of my lunch...I totally over share.

The protein is in the beans and shell. The good fats are in the beans and (depending on type one buys or makes), dressing.
Spices also in dressing (no need for meat)

Fish has vital omega 3s EPA and DHA. While you can get omega 3s from plant sources such as flax, it has ALA, not EPA and DHA. While it's okay that you get it from this source, the conversion of ALA to EPA and DHA is not as efficient.
Also, it's important to get these meats responsibly raised. Well, fish is better off being wild-caught. But meats such as chicken, pork, beef, they all should come from a responsibly raised source. Extra points if your beef is grass-fed (which isn't practical for the majority of the population due to the expense of it).
And whatever meat you eat, choose quality over quantity. It's better to have just an 8 oz steak that's organic and grass-fed with plenty of organic veggies on the side than a conventionally raised 32 oz with french fries fried in hydrogenated oils.
So the conclusion is, to each their own, but meat IS good for you, as long as the quality is good.

This lady on facebook complained because her son came in asking her to iron his clothes at 9 PM. She told him to do it himself which I guess is good because he is in high school already. Then other people started commenting that they don't iron anymore.

I iron when needed but if it's something important, like a job interview, I'll definitely do it. Usually I wear t-shirts and shorts and I don't iron those unless it looks bad. But if I had kids or a husband, I would gladly iron for them. I sometimes iron my brother's dressy shirts if he needs me to.

If I take my clothes off the washing line (Hills Hoist, oh yeah) and they survive their time in the washing basket to the wardrobe (Narnia) without becoming crumpled, then I don't iron them. Most of the time I iron though. I even used to iron my home clothes, but I definitely don't bother with that any more. I believe that if someone's old enough to be in high school, then they're old enough to iron their own clothes.
