You have to do this AT Starbucks silly. It's white-girl bait they joke. As a white girl that enjoys them, I cannot lie. No yoga pants here tho.

Doesn't Tim Horton's do the pumpkin explosion too? Or are you Canucks just too snooty for that?

Yeah I know they did. McDonalds does it too. But eww. There's a timmies following then there is a Starbucks following in Canada. It's kinda one or the other (except when McDonalds came along and decided hey, let's go Starbucks and make some money), so people buy their coffee too. I think for straight coffee people go to Timmies, for speciality drinks/ cappuccinos Starbucks/ for Walmart shoppers they go to Mcdonalds for coffee/ for the Hipster elites they go to local.

I also don't like Timmies cus everyone looks so bloody miserable there. I worked there 4 days 10 years back and was treated like such carp from the customers. They want their coffee, they don't care about you. At Starbucks it's different. Probably because of the cost? But people are friendlier to the baristas from what I have witnessed, customers chat with other customers. It's a more relaxing environment. Timmies is just not a place for a latte.

Often tea is a home thing for people :) speaking of which I bought a new herbal tea today! It has Hibiscus, Cranberries, Rose Hips, Apple, Cinnamon, with pumpkin spice flavouring. I'm gonna make myself a cup now :) nom nom.

I don't WANT to write Christian fiction. I don't want to be limited. If I want my characters to swear, have pre martial sex, or sin to their heart's destruction, then I should be able to. Do you know the amount of rewriting and reconstruction I'd have to do? I almost feel like I can't even write the story I was planning because it's not the perky, "oh everything is fine now with Jesus" type of story.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I can pull it off. But my subject matter is dark. It's almost too dark for me to wade through.

Pull a Charles Dickens and leave room for redemption at the end of the book (or the saga if it's multiple books).

I'm wondering about the power of speech and thoughts...

I said it yesterday, then it happened today.
I said it earlier, then it happened at once.
I thought about it, could it be? :) h

Proverbs 6:16-19 (KJV) [SUP]16 [/SUP]These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: [SUP]17 [/SUP]A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, [SUP]18 [/SUP]An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, [SUP]19 [/SUP]A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

This is only for the one who needs it.... nobody else. Since no names were used, it means no one will know unless they speak out, giving themself away.

*sigh* I don't know what your problem is, but we try to be nice to each other here in the singles community. It's something called love, maybe you've heard of it? Why do you feel the need to cause trouble? Please, go stir the pot elsewhere or in PM.

I loooove local coffee shops. And I'm finding myself being more and more limited for things I can have at places like starbucks. Being dairy free is not easy. If I get the wrong thing at Starbucks, instead of it energizing me, I could end up knocked out for an hour or two and/or with a migraine.

BUGS! Good to see ya. :D You gonna be in chat tonight?

On the topic of McDonald's coffee... I'm a bit of an epicure myself, but I'm also a McDonald's employee. (Naturally I bring my own lunch with me.) I have to say the frappes, lattes, iced coffees and etc that McDonald's has are not very good - they're made with pre-mixed liquid coffee bases that come in big plastic bags. In this case the hipster elite to which arwen referred are correct. Go local for coffee creations.

I will say though that McDonald's regular coffee is pretty good. It got my grandmother's approval, and she's a veteran coffee drinker. It also beat Starbucks regular coffee in a national double-blind taste test.
