I just realized it hasn't even been one year since I've been baptized... and even though I had to practically force myself to do it...I'm feeling kind of glad right now I did make that decision.

I'll tell you right now, it isn't an easy decision, especially if you're not one who likes to be the center of attention all the time. BUT....with that being said. It is worth it...and it probably took me way too long to get it done.
Guys...I totally didn't realize I joined CC on pi day 4 years ago. I joined four years ago today!! 
Also...I'm kind of sad. My posts per day statistics is 3.04 and I kinda hoped it'd be 3.14 XD

working with a quadriplegic man today. While out and about in the community, he reaches to push the handicapped button to open a door with his right arm, the only extremity that kinda sorta works. A man opens the door for us before he can reach the button.
I suppose he meant well, but I wanted to say some snarky comment such as "thank you for taking away the opportunity for X to do the ONE thing he can do by himself today.

I think he was probably thinking he was helping. I don't think about that really when I see a handicapped person. I am like that guy I might just reach for the door. Something to think about.
When I was a baby I was dedicated in my Mom's church (Baptist) when I was 10 my Catholic Father said, she needs to get Baptized. So he called the church we went to at the time and I was Baptized, God Parent's and everything, when I was 17 and my Dad was dead my Mom said, we need to go back to the Baptist church, sigh, so we went back. A few months into I was Baptized again, I did it for my Mom.
When my Husband and I joined the Presbyterian church he was Baptized, I asked if I need to be Baptized again, the Pastor said, no, not anymore, we get it. He was joking of course, but I didn't get Baptized again.
When my kids were newborn I had them Baptized at the Presbyterian Church. I know many people don't agree with that but that was my way of saying to God, I promise they'll know you. If they chose get baptized again when they're older that's fine with me.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. 
Today I saw a girl who reminded me of Charlize Theron in Mighty Joe Young (The gorilla movie)
I'd say she was even more beautiful.
There are many beautiful girls in college, and it's always nice to watch a well dressed woman. (Watching people is one of my favourite past-times)
However this girl, was dressed ordinarily, and she was definitely not a fashionista, but that face! It was so beautiful!
I just wanted to stop, turn back and just look at her.
I was so mesmerized, I told my friend next to me, "Look at her! Isn't she beautiful?"
My friend took a moment to process, stared, and then gave me a blank look.
"Well?" I asked her.
"Um, yeah I guess. I don't like her hair..."
I felt a bit ...suprised and a little confused. She was so wonderful, I don't think she had to do a single thing to herself.
Then I remembered, beauty is so subjective and not everyone can see it.
It's not always physical beauty that makes a person obviously. It's the spirit of that person that's most important. It's just so amazing that every single person on this planet is unique and different and God has made everyone so wonderfully and fearfully....and on and on!
Just wow. That's what I felt when I saw that girl

That opening doors for people must be the thing of the day.
I stopped by a department store on my way home this evening. A woman in front of me let the door shut in my face. On the way out, she was carrying two armloads of bags. I went out before her and continued to hold the door for her so she could get out easily by way of example. She did not even look at me or say thank you or anything.
(I suppose you CAN buy the largest Coach purse on the planet to match your cute pink coat, but you sure can't buy manners
)

I was sitting at Starbucks n' 2 women asked me if they can share the table with me and since I had a 3 seat table, I said "Yes of course" they sat for a while then left without even saying thank you or looking at me!!!
So yes, you are right, manners cannot be earned. If one is not raised up with them, then one will never have them even if you take courses in etiquette!!!

is it pi(e) day or thigh day? mine are killing me, but in the very best way. there's not many better feelings than being entirely spent. since it was sort of dark (overcast) for pictures, i'm sharing ones from another day and some i didn't take.
so, i went hiking today at one of my (easily) top 5 favorite places.

Those pictures where you hiked?!!!! I'm willing to pay an air fair ticket n' come next time you go cuz we don't have this right now. We have it in summer which should be soon. So if you will be hiking before our summer, you can let me know!!

actually, it stays pretty mild here (most of the time) especially near the beach.
but it's MUUU-DDDDY!!! i had to hose off my running shoes and boots and everything else went directly into the washing machine.
a lot of people like to hike in the summer, but i really enjoy hiking in the spring.
everything lovely about spring flowers and foliage is magnified by a million in a giant, old growth forest with tall, tall trees that seem to touch the sky.
we're talking 25 foot rhododendrons, about a million unfurling bleeding hearts, the start of forest trillium, and pristine, bright greens everywhere. it's almost like "day-glow" green. the air smells amazing and pure.
no better place to make decisions, give thanks, ponder life's questions and worship in a cathedral made by God.
