In defense of all the non-romantics in the world, I've gotta mention that gift-giving/receiving isn't everyone's "love language"... people have different ways of expressing love, and I know that some people really absolutely adore getting/receiving sweet gestures and gifts, while others are kinda "meh" about it, but place a lot of focus on acts of service or quality time together, or show their love simply by speaking to one another with respect and confirmation. Oh I agree GLR. Giving gifts means nothing if that's all you do. I think there nedds to be a balance. It seems like lots of people fall into one extreme or the other. Some men think their "gift" to their wife is the fact that they work 40 hrs a week & pay the rent,yet never once verbally tell their wife how much they love them or appreciate the fact that she busts her buns daily taking care of the house or kids or making them dinner. Sometimes the best gift he can give her would be,I dunno...do the dishes sometime w/out being asked,or just let her have a day for herself & he takes the kid's for a day. In the same fashion,I think sometimes women think that just because they do what they do,that a man doesn't need to hear that she loves him. Personally,I'm greedy...I like it all. I appreciate the little notes,and the hugs..the "I missed you & I love you's"
Gifts are nice too,but the greatest gift a woman can give me is her heart..her thoughts her honesty,her passion & desires. Those are the thing's that (for me) make it feel like Valentine's Day year round.

Everyone is different,like you say.:)

I agree GracelikeRain.

I think the bottom line, for a lack of a better way of stating it, is giving of one's self in whatever way to show the other person they matter. :) That they are appreciated, wanted, needed and cherished and in the case of a married or committed relationship, loved. :)

dear jim, if i took a nap everytime i had such a whim i'd be living in a cardboard box and collecting change from the kindly strangers. : ) besides, i'm one of those troubled sleepers who practically needs a miracle to get 5 or 6 hours in a row, so the last thing i need is to be messing with that. : )

oh, i didn't really mean it to be HARD. i meant it to be a place for random queries (of all type) asked by one who (would likely) be the sole person with the awareness to ask. if that makes sense...
 
dear monica, I am lucky to get 3-4 hrs of sleep a night so I feel yer' pain. lol

It wasn't a hard question,I was just being ridiculous...so no change there.

It does make sense,and when I think of a cool question I shall post.

ehh, i don't care if its gruesome. i am 100% donated, signed (on the medical paperwork), sealed and delivered (to my people). i know a lot of people care about the idea of whether they might end up on a college lab table or body farm, but i couldn't care in the least.
 
I don't know that I can think of one single time in my teenage/adult life (and maybe even childhood) where I was so happy and excited that I started squealing and jumping up and down and basically being completely insane and silly...

Guess there's a first time for everything...

And I don't even feel stupid for doing it.

I spent my Valentine's Day eating wings, chocolate, and watching Grace Unplugged with the fam. :)

Grace Unplugged really reminded me on why I don't listen to secular music or support it. The music industry is dog-eat-dog. It is cut-throat. Steal the spotlight right out of a person's hands. And it is empty.
