On a not even slightly related note, this reminds me of my distant uncle, he had been drinking his aftershave for decades when he had the urge for a drink, which was pretty much all the time, whenever he couldn't get any. Then, the company making that brand, someday decided to stop adding alcohol...but he kept on drinking it to his dyin' day...habits...
So, in other words, you prevaricate they often procrastinate when they should prognostigate?Do people think they're not saying something by saying they're not saying something? Passive aggressive behavior ftw, right?![]()

Yeah it's on YouTube! I do tons of fun stuff on there. I recently did a tongue-twister video. Everyone I've shown it to has laughed. I can message you the link to it if you want!![]()

(I reiterate, indubidably)![]()

I haven't spoken to the girl I used to call my best friend in over a year. Not since I came back home, and told her I was trying to fix my marriage. During the same conversation, she told me she filed for divorce. I don't think either of us knew how to be there for each other, and we just...stopped talking. My mom and my husband have both asked me why I don't just call her, and I really didn't have an answer...I wasn't mad at her, I miss her, I knew she needed a friend. Pride, maybe? I dunno.
This morning, I got a message on Facebook from my friend's mom. She asked what happened between us, reminded me that we've been friends for over half our lives, said her daughter misses me and is confused about why we stopped talking...said she knows this can be fixed if we both want it to.
My life has been a series of apologies, to the same handful of people. I mess up, I say I'm sorry, they forgive me and we start again.
I guess I'm starting to wonder...why they keep letting me back in.
So you're saying I'm oblivious to the obvious?Care to put it in context?
It really depends on the context. If you were to say "I don't support unrepentant gay pastors" and someone says "So you hate gay people?" And you reply "No, I'm not saying that I hate gay people". Does that mean that you in fact do hate gay people?
In this case I think no is the obvious answer.
I concede; I have no idea what you're talking about. Lol.So, in other words, you hedge about the idea they often hold back when they should prophesy?
(I repeat, yes)![]()
He's hanging in there. Everyone needs varying amounts of time to grieve in their own way and deal with the backwash of losing an immediate family member. I'm trying not to crowd him, but if I hear from him, I'll pass the generalities along.Anyone friends with zero check in with him lately? outside this forum I mean?
Zero if your checking ..thinking about you and your family. I am so close with my father I just have you on my mind and in prayers.

In the spirit of Melita's posts about her conversations with her boss, here's one I had with my boss a while back. We're always very sarcastic with each other so when I "protest", he knows I'm joking. Sort of.
Boss: How do you feel about ladders?
me: Oh great. This can't be good. What crazy thing do you want me to do now?
Boss: I need someone to clean off the tops of the freezers.
me: Let me guess... You couldn't get (another co-worker) to do it...
Boss: I just figured you'd be gullible enough to say yes.
me: *cough, cough* But there's going to be tons of dust up there... *cough, cough, wheeze* What about my asthma...
Boss: You don't have asthma!
me: How would you know??!!
Boss: Get up there and get it done!
So as I'm about 10 feet off the ground cleaning off the tops of rows and rows of standing coolers, I would occasionally try to tell my boss:
me: *cough, cough, cough, clutching chest* My emphysema!!!
Boss: Stop complaining!
me: *bark, bark* My black lung disease!!
Boss: You know, the sooner you get it done, the sooner you can come down...
Oh well. It was worth a try.
But he's certainly not getting my vote for Most Sympathetic Manger of the month.![]()
Close with my dad, too. We pm'd before, but as Sib-Khat said, he's taking the time...this one really hurt. He knows we're praying for him, tho, and Jesus is holding him close. Thanks for your heart and the reminder.....been missing shiney, too, tried to contact but no reply. Did she go on a mission, I thought I remember her mentioning a trip? Hope all is well with her. Praying for her as well. Thx cws.Anyone friends with zero check in with him lately? outside this forum I mean?
