you are an awesome young woman steph...proud of youJust having my morning tea and donuts before volunteering
What happened to my previous post? When Roh_Chris quoted it, it was what I said. When I read my own post today it is a direct quote of the original japanese. Who's monkeying around with my posts?
bad experience? I had two people from India, within one year, who I thought were good friends and then suddenly started talking about marriage (!) then again, there are plenty of people from all over the world who like to shoot each other with scripture in here![]()
If someone directly refuses your friendship for those reasons, apologize for the terrible manners of some of your countrymen. If it is on a less personal level with someone who is already a friend, you can maybe ask about what the actual actions are that have been interpreted in such a way. If it makes you feel any better, there are some other countries with reputations just as bad around here so it's not just yours. Also those of us who know you, know that you don't fit that stereotype. We're glad to have you around brother philosoraptorbearwhateveryouare and to call you friend (or is that fiend). Whatever the ignorant masses in other parts of CC might think.
I am going to volunteer somewhere... and maybe take an adult ed course... and go bungee jump... and take up a Kung Fu class.
This is my second day getting up at 6:30am, and I'm not enjoying it. At all. It would be fine if I had fallen asleep at a decent hour the night before. My brain is so dumb.
The once a week injection my doctor gave me to try isn't working out, so I'm going to stop the process. I'm having bad reactions. Oh well, it was a an experiment anyway. I'm telling you folks, NEVER trust first generation technology. The needle was HUGE anyway, and man did it hurt to inject!
me: [insert business name here]. this is imelda. how can i help you?

Personally, I'm voting for all 4 at one time: Volunteer to Teach Adults Kung Fu Bungee Jumping.
I'd love to see the DVD of that one.
You ACTUALLY watched Kung Fury?!Angie and I actually watched that movie the other night. It also had Lamboghinis, Vikings, dinosaurs, Nazis, gun fights, Thor, and a robotic eagle. (It was also laced with a great deal of violence and profanity, but entertaining nonetheless.) The movie actually has the protagonist kung-fu-bungee-jump in like, the first two minutes. But he forgets to tie off, but it's okay, because his Lamborghini catches him.

With the way people have been mutilating your username, it's about time you mastered some Kung Fu skills to defend yourself.![]()
One of my claims to fame? I used to watch MST3K when it was cable access on KTCA in Minneapolis. Dude, I'm old (Skool).I've been waiting for them to finish that for the last year and a half! (No, I didn't contribute to the Kickstarter, but I'd been following it since it began.)
Look, you're almost a decade younger than me. You didn't grow up in the 80s. You didn't fill your summers by going to the small-town mom-and-pop VHS rental (before places like Blockbuster and Hollywood video took over in the mid 90s), and renting LITERALLY EVERYTHING that they had on the shelf...including every poorly made direct-to-video or low budget foreign action film worthy of MST3K. You grew up in the DVD age, when real movies now take 3-6 months to end up on disc and at the rentals (that only barely still exist). We used to wait a year for a Hollywood blockbuster to be released on DVD, and then hope that we were one of the first 30 people to get into Hastings that day to rent a copy so we could bootleg it.
Kung Fury is a love letter to the most ludicrous cinema of my generation's youth. ^_^
