Pilgrimshope, Repentance of Sins only comes after Salvation. Not before. Does a Sodomite have to turn from his Sodomy or try to stop being a Sodomite before God will save him? No. A Sodomite just has to believe the Gospel of the Death, Burial and Resurrection and he will be saved. In other words, a Sodomite comes to God just as he is, and he believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And God will save him. And so, Repentance of Unbelief comes before Salvation. A Sodomite is to repent of his unbelief and believe the Gospel. And then once that Sodomite is saved, then he can begin to repent of his individual sins, such as Sodomy. Since he now has two natures.
That is sick and twisted idolatry, not Christian faith.
Repentance away from sin is a prerequisite for salvation (Ezekiel 33:11-20, Luke 13:1-5, 2 Corinthians 7:10).
Read the verses in question. No it is not. Repentance of Sins (Turning From Sins) before salvation, is works. If a Sodomite has to repent and turn away from his Sodomy before God will save him, then that Sodomite also must repent of his laziness, over eating, bitterness, jealousy, and every other sin he has been guilty of. Repentance of Unbelief is before Salvation. Then once that Sodomite is saved, then he can begin to repent of his personal sins, such as Sodomy and slothfulness, etc. Repentance of sins comes after Salvation. And not before.
No, it is not. Faith is the certainty of things NOT seen (Hebrews 11:1), not belief in things that are.It isn't idolatry, Dino. It is Faith to believe God's perfect and infallible word, sir.
According to Hebrews 6:1, repentance precedes faith:No it is not. Repentance of Sins (Turning From Sins) before salvation, is works. If a Sodomite has to repent and turn away from his Sodomy before God will save him, then that Sodomite also must repent of his laziness, over eating, bitterness, jealousy, and every other sin he has been guilty of. A person becomes born again when he relinquishes the control of his own life to God and makes up his mind that he will be obedient to the Lord. This is repentance.
I think that you have mis-defined repentance by thinking that it means that every individual sin that you commit, you have to stop doing, by pinpointing every sin in your life and turning from it.
But real repentance can be a general thing. The individual sins will then be taken care of as we become aware of them.
No, it is not. Faith is the certainty of things NOT seen (Hebrews 11:1), not belief in things that are.
According to Hebrews 6:1, repentance precedes faith:
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, "
God alone knows the exact moment at which a person is translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. To us, it's a process that includes both repentance and faith, in any order.
IF Jesus can't save abs sett free a homosexual then He can't fornicator, adulterer, drunkerd and liar. All those too will not enter the Kingdom of God. we all are lost.Amen.
Any sinner can be saved. Even Sodomites (Homosexuals and Lesbians). If they will simply believe the Gospel of The Death, Burial and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, trusting alone in that Finished Work of His, as the only sufficient payment for their sins. I saw Aden Rusfeldt recently tell a group of Sodomites on a campus somewhere, that they could not be saved. Basically he was telling them that there is no hope for them. And then in another video, I heard another preacher in his group, telling Sodomites at a pride event "I would not even share my testimony with you." Well, of course, he wouldn't. Why would he? he doesn't think that they can be saved anyway. Which also brings up another question to my mind, why are they even out there preaching to them? I am mean If God cannot save them, According to their reprobate heresy, well then aren't they wasting their time??? Oh but they will go out there just to call them names and to rail on them.
Well, he, like Steven Anderson, is also wrong. That's Heresy. Once again, this kind of thinking of theirs, comes from that "reprobate doctrine." If Sodomites cannot be saved, then neither can those other sinners be saved in that list of Romans 1 (i.e. backbiters, whisperers, covetous, fornicators, boasters, inventors of evil things, murderers, disobedient to parent's, etc.) The truth is, that whole group of Gentiles mentioned in Romans 1, had been given over to a reprobate mind and not just the Sodomites (Homosexuals and Lesbians). What is a reprobate mind? Simply put, it is a mind that is inverted. Any wicked person that is depraved has a reprobate mind at that present time. Which would explain why their conduct is as wicked as it is. But even a Reprobate can still be saved, if he will repent (change his mind about God and about himself) and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Faith, the certainty of things not seen, comes by hearing the word of God... from any translation, and in any language. It is of Faith, Dino. Because Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And the King James Bible is the word of God.
You're adding to the word of God. The word of God does not say that repentance from unbelief precedes faith.Yes, Dino. Repentance does precede Faith. But before Salvation, the sinner is not repenting of his individual sins. But rather, the lost sinner is repenting of his unbelief. It is Repentance of unbelief and then Faith in the Gospel. And then after Salvation, it is Repentance of one's personal sins.
A person must repent of generally living a sinful lifestyle before they can be saved. How a person lives his life is not an issue before Salvation. You are confusing Discipleship with Salvation. A person becomes born again by believing on Jesus Christ and trusting In His Finished Work Alone for his Salvation. Then after he is saved and born again, he will need to consider if he is ready and willing to count the cost of discipleship. Because in order for him to become a Disciple, he indeed will have to relinquish the control, and he will need to surrender his life unto God, before he can become a Disciple.
Not at all. Repentance is a Change of Mind about oneself and about God before Salvation. It is a Conversion of Trust from Dumb idols and dead works UNTO the Word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. The person’s sins are not an issue before salvation. Repentance of sins should come after his salvation.
Faith, the certainty of things not seen, comes by hearing the word of God... from any translation, and in any language.
You're adding to the word of God. The word of God does not say that repentance from unbelief precedes faith.
A person must repent of generally living a sinful lifestyle before they can be saved.
For if they continue to be a worker / doer of iniquity, they will be cast into "the furnace of fire, where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 13:41-42; Matthew 7:23, Matthew 25:41).
Therefore their repentance away from sin is an integral aspect of the salvation that is given to them.
