How could they write scripture if they were not born again? All believing Israelites were born again and not all refused to obey the Law. It was never obedience to the Law per se but faith in Yahweh that motivated obedience to the Law that God desired. The Law was necessary to define sin.

Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

While I agree with 90-95% of your OP, there are one or two matters I disagree with.
Yes, I agree that what I said was an over generalisation. There were for sure many OT believers. Thanks for pointing this out.

Gideon300, thank you for that above post, seeing deeper, thanking God wow
Thank you Father and Son as Won for us all to believe and stand in belief and learn new from you as you decide to reveal not me

Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, my statement was an over generalisation. I believe that the OT saints, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the true prophets, Moses, Joshua and Caleb were born again. However, what they did not have was the indwelling Holy Spirit as believers have today. The Holy Spirit came upon them from time to time. Samson is a good example.

Most Israelis were not born again as witnessed by their utter unwillingness to obey God's law. It was not too hard, according to God. But the unregenerate heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.

Now willingly in the truest sense, Love in mercy and truth to all, not a few as we all do or have done, you in, you not attitudes of the knowledge of good and evil of our first born flesh, that needs born new in
Father and Son as lead, then willingly do Love, not literal Law traditions, that only make the flesh feel good. See Col 1,2

Now living in us each personally as we each grow up differently, as Father reveals the reality, as God now living in us and through us, as long as we remain willing to be ready to be led, not by self or any other flesh and blood, thank you Gideon300
