Theres speed cameras that can catch you so be careful.
Then you have to pay up if you go over.

The limit is mean to be the limit not the minimum speed. In my part of the world anyway.

I mean if you are rich and dont care about wear and tear on your car and impact on your wallet, I suppose you can go over but you'll be the one paying for it if its your car! Do you want to keep forking out for speeding tickets?

Unless you are on a race track. be considerate of others. Nobody likes to be in the path of a speed demon, nor involved in a high speed crash. People can die in car crashes you know. Its not just you on the road. A car had heaps of fuel in it that if spilled can be dangerous as its flammable. and toxic!

Not that I’m saying “no $ fine = perfectly fine to always do it”
But where I live it might be
0 to 5 mph above speed limit = $0
More than 5 mph but not above 10 mph, above speed limit = $25 for first time they give u a ticket or something (basically, first offense, sorta)

If you break the law during the night, it counts the same as the day....!

Just cos there seem to be no other cars around doesnt mean people living on or near those roads arent affected either.

The "basic speed law" dictates driving at the speed of the traffic. Otherwise you are endangering yourself and the flow of traffic composition.

Regardless of the speed limit, I like to drive about 45 (sometimes 35) MPH. I don't why people like to blow their horns at me, make ugly jesters at me, or pass me on a hill or a curve. We always get to the red light together before it changes to green.

Drivers just don't have any patience!

I was just wondering because going too slow can be a safety hazard. Which is why other drivers might be getting mad at you.

sometimes too slow can be a safety hazard but is better to be slower then faster.
around schools and shopsand in high traffic areas you need to be slower because of the people walking on the street. if you crash into them its more likely they will be the ones hurt not you.

if you like to go faster then you would avoid those roads and take an alternative route. some roads especially back country roads have no speed limits.

Well, yeah. Here school zones are 20mph. Faster is a danger to kids and will earn the driver a ticket. Residential zones are 25. Maybe 30.

If the speed is 55 (which is generally on highways/freeways) going 35 can cause issues.

Yes Friend, the courts may wave the points on your License when you admit you are wrong, but they want your money.
Think of the fine as an extra tax. That is how the system in the USA works. If you want a bible verse to support this read Romans 14.

A key, is remember driving two miles below a speed limit often times the lights where you do not have to stop. Where I live people have to pay for Ambulance up front.

I often volunteer for Police Functions. I am the NEST Officer for my County.

Being on our Neighborhood Association Board in a poor neighborhood, I often have to drive someone to the hospital in an emergency. Calling the Police to meet you enroute gets you an Police Escort at no charge. The Police has given me something to plug in my cigarette lighter that is an light and siren to use.

Unless this is wrong, there’s no fine for driving 0-5 above the speed limit (for ur first offense) in my state
But also there’s the moral argument of driving above the speed limit

I am curious what state you are in. I have driven in many states in my life. An Officer has discretion not to pull someone over for going only a few miles over a speed limit. But, in law it is illegal.

By the way, I hold the record of getting "Courtesy Tickets" (over 400). Many States at times give those out to good safe drivers. On the front it looks like a ticket with what you did right. On the back is free meals at Restaurants or discounts at stores or even up to $500 dollars off at large chain stores. The stores convert those to gift cards to use.

No, don't dump a lump sum of money at a police station. Obey as best that you can all traffic regulations and you will be fine. By all means, get the dying person to a hospital regardless of a red light as long as it is safe to do so.

If you do not have a police escort, blow your horn and flash your headlights.
When going through and intersection use the center lane.

Parking tickets are also paid online or in some areas, at designated pay stations (we used to pay them at the council offices or at libraries)

If you dont pay and they mount up, debt collectors might go chasing after you or you might have to go to court. You can lose your license if you are speeding too often, you get demerit points. You can state your case though and they might be lenient.

Good thing to do though is stick to speed limit and dont run a red light. Its definitely safer to be under and stop at red lights. Cars could be coming the other way.

A Bench Warrant can also be made for your arrest.

When on a freeway, pay attention to speed of Semi Trucks. That will let you know if Police are active at that time.
Also, if you see one vehicle pulled over does not mean there are not other Police Present.

In Michigan it is 55 MPH on country roads.
