But you have been given copy of testimonies to all this
why do you deny what you have read right here in CC?
And there are many testimonies posted in the Testimonies Forum about wonderful miracles and healings.
Specifically I have posted two testimonies to children being raised from the dead.
A copy of testimonies?!!!

I'm not that kind of person. I'm the kind of person you'd raise a dead body in-front of, but i'd still question the authenticity coz i don't trust my senses that much, i trust God. I'd witness such but still go to gain understanding about raising of the dead from the scriptures, and still pray to God so that i wouldn't fall in a trap.

Amen, remined me of the parable in Luke. If a person does not believe the word of God (prophecy) then neither would they believe if one was raised form the dead . Raises the dead is a work of the gospel .no outward sign to confirm just a new heart and new spirit that desires to do the will of one not seen

God heals indiscriminately, any and every healing is a miracle .Its a miracle that God extended the work of dying in the garden giving men 70 or so years . Every day a person wakes up on the green side of the grass God can still perform one. Miracles are miracles nothing more and nothing less. God is God nothing less .

I would offer. God, bringing his interpretation (not the private interpretations of men) in all language formally in the Hebrew alone, like all gift unseen work mutual in two.

Paul because he traveled where many other languages were spoken Paul was used to exercise the gift of bringing the gospel . The mutual gift worked both ways .When Paul spoke in the Hebrew God would interpret it into another language. And when the other person who did not speak Hebrew God interpreted it into the Hebrew

Two different voices .One Paul, as I …...the other him

Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.1 Cor.14:11

Communicating the gospel is a two way street . Both parties edify God who does the work. No such thing as self edifying as some sort of sign a person has received the Holy Spirit .

Signs of stammering lips (mocking) confirm those who beleive not prophecy . Prophecy for those who beleive the word of God

Tongues as prophecy ( same thing) spoke in other languages other that Hebrews alone has ceased because new prophecy or new revelation of God has ceased .

Why go above that which is written as if some kind of law by which we could know him more adequately was forgotten?

Speaking in tongues is not for "communicating the gospel". Never has been, never will be.

Speaking in tongues is not prophesy. Never has been, never will be.

Shrume, you do know that Tongue of Angels is a reference to how ELOQUENT the spoke, that Languages of men they were Speaking to?
No it isn't.

In the Bible, angels has to do with ... angels. Not things men do that may be "eloquent".

Praying with our new born again spirit that will be raised up on the last day and praying with my own new understanding is how we make our request known to Him. Emanuel singing with us .

The word unknow was added. The tongues another language other than the Hebrew is not unknown to the speaker . That would be more like clashing kettles and banging sound that have no meaning. When we pray the spirit that lives in us helps us he does not give us thoughts without meaning . How would that bring glory to God...... The no gospel
Wagging doesn't know what tongues is. They've made it abundantly clear they're here to oppose truth. Waggling their finger in the face of the God they don't respect. They don't respect us either. There's at least one of those on every Christian site.
They live to upset people. But they don't. They garner our pity, in my case they garner my contempt. They're suppose to be forgiven by us. Yet, when they have no conscience how would that apply?

I am convinced they were.

That was 50 days earlier.

How could an upper room hold the multitude of people that heard the apostles speak in tongues?

Sorry, not convinced.
I'm convinced I'm a multi-millionaire helping those in need all over the world. But I'm not. Instead I use what I have when I can to help those God puts in my path.

Your convictions have no basis in scripture. It doesn't matter what you think.
And being argumentative just to have fun with Christians isn't mature. Find another hobby.

Correct. The disciples were initially in the upper room but then they were out and about speaking in tongues.

 Your priorities are flawed.

actually your manners are flawed

Waggles may believe things you do not believe, but he respects others

you might try it some time

there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ...not arguing over tongues and belittling other Christians whom I am sure accepted for their faith in Christ whether or not some people think they 'deserve' it

this forum and any other I have been on for the more than a decade I have participated in forums, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS will debate tongues

we see character in how people respond

Bible.ORG Speaking in Tongues Introduction

Acts 2:1 Commentary And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.Chapter 5 THE PENTECOSTAL BLESSING.

The scriptures say the Apostles were together in one place. It is interpolation to insist that was the temple. It is also silly. The temple was that entity wherein its leadership worked to kill Christ! We can't be let to believe the temple elders would then allow followers of that blasphemer they wanted dead to worship as that blasphemer called them to right under the elders noses.

If temple is also to be translated as house, then it makes sense the Apostles would be worshiping and celebrating God in a house. But in secret since the Apostles of the blasphemer the temple elders identified and had crucified would be apostate Jews and worthy of death. Which is later on how we read about Saul of Tarsus. Who was a Pharisee, highly educated in the law, who was seeking them out for execution. He even held the Apostle Stephens cloak as he was put to death by stoning.

Be careful whom you let lead you to believe their writings here. If it conflicts with God's words, they're a liar.

I have contempt for anyone who mocks the word of God. Too bad you attack those who honor the word and call out the contemptuous.
Report me. When Waggles is lacking in manners you and the other one seem to side with them. You even defend when they put words in God's mouth!
How many forums have tolerated that? THAT is a bannable offense.
If a Troll like Waggles is tolerated here and even defended, I'd say that would be coming from other Trolls aligned with Waggle. Or, with those who aren't really here for the sake of Christian community in the first place.

I'm leaving. This place is highly toxic. If you doubt that, look in the mirror as you write and defend Waggles and others here who lie about God's word and make it their own imagination.

Then I dare you to look on Google for Christianchat reviews.

This place SUCKS!

And a whole lot of people are talking about it. You and Waggles and others, are why. It is a privilege to have members. It is a duty for Christians to report bad sites. Toodles.

Waggles? I know you from Thinking Atheist when I lurked there. You ain't fooling them. But you are fooling the fools here. Obviously.

That's wonderful.

That's right. What matters is the truth.

The scripture are far more than a hobby to me.

Now... Instead of just insulting me, why not try offering some proof (from the scriptures) of why I am wrong?

Then you're fooling yourself.
You clearly didn't read what they wrote so as to understand that excerpt you posted in proper context.
Fooling ones self is the one who puts words into the scripture that aren't actually there. And in order to insist they're right about a wrong thing and that the Bible is in error for not including that added word of theirs.

The gathered who first received the gift of tongues in scripture were not in the temple. That's a false assertion for anyone to make.
If they want to insist that they're right all they have to do is prove it. Using God's unadulterated word. They can't. I think that's why they get mad, even rude, when people point that out. And that is a clear indicator that even they know they're wrong. Because the truth of God's word is in print in hundreds of versions.

Not one of those says the gift of tongues was first bestowed on those gathered in the temple. I know, I've checked. Those who claim the temple was the site have not. Because quite frankly, it didn't happen.

Please reread some of your posts. You are the one who seems mad, and are definitely being rude.

You do not have to agree with me. This is not a salvation issue.

If it was not possible to consider that the original outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurred in the temple, then I would not believe it. But according to the scriptures, I think it is possible, in fact highly likely, that they were in the temple.
